Night Fall, Hartford's annual community celebration of art, music, dance, nature, and seasonal change, returns to the park where it all began eleven years ago: Hartford's Elizabeth Park on Saturday, October 1 at 6 pm.

Baltimore Center Stage has announced the complete cast and creative team for Our Town. Written by Thornton Wilder and directed by Stevie Walker-Webb (The Folks at Home), Our Town begins performances on Thursday September 15 for a limited run through Sunday October 9.

The 24 Hour Plays welcome new and returning artists alike for Season Three, Episode Five of The 24 Hour Plays: VIral Monologues tonight. From 6PM ET, these monologues will be published on Instagram and Twitter @24hourplays every 15 minutes.

The Kite Runner is officially open on Broadway! Based on Khaled Hosseini's internationally best-selling novel and adapted by Matthew Spangler, the production comes to New York from two successful seasons in London's West End and will run through October 30 at The Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street). The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues return tonight for Season 3, Round 3. An exciting group of actors and writers have been paired to create pieces written, rehearsed and recorded in 24 hours. Performers include Ben Ahlers, Molly Collier, Niall Cunningham, Carolina Đỗ, Vas Eli, Alyssa May Gold, Ryan Spahn, John Clarence Stewart and more.

Santa Cruz Shakespeare today announced it will open its summer season with the exciting World Premiere of The Formula by Kathryn Chetkovich, directed by Ellen Maguire in a co-production with Blissfield, during its summer festival July 10-Aug. 28 in the Audrey Stanley Grove in DeLaveaga Park.

The Broadway League’s Black to Broadway Initiative will present the second annual Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth concert, a free outdoor event centered around Black artistry and community.

People’s Light will present Bayard Rustin Inside Ashland, the world premiere of a play with music inspired by the true story of West Chester, PA native Bayard Rustin. Chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington and openly gay Civil Rights activist, Bayard Rustin was nearly written out of the history books.

Ariana DeBose took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the recent film adaptation of West Side Story. The film also won in the Best Film Editing category.

Yesterday, March 11th, the American Film Institute (AFI) celebrated the 2021 AFI AWARDS honorees with a star-studded invite-only luncheon in Beverly Hills. AFI also revealed its official rationales (below) for all 23 honorees, providing the cultural and artistic context to mark these outstanding creative endeavors as the year’s notable milestones.

Offerman joins previously announced series stars William Jackson Harper and Cristin Milioti, with Skyler Gisondo, Luis Gerardo Méndez, Nina Bloomgarden, Gabriela Cartol rounding out series leads and Ben Sinclair, Parvesh Cheena, Debby Ryan, Dylan Baker, Michael Hitchcock and Becky Ann Baker as recurring guest stars.

William Jackson Harper, Skyler Gisondo, Ben Sinclair and Parvesh Cheena have also been added to the ensemble series, along with previously announced series leads including Luis Gerardo Méndez, Nina Bloomgarden, Gabriela Cartol and recurring guest stars Debby Ryan, Dylan Baker, Michael Hitchcock and Becky Ann Baker.  

Today, the full list of nominees for the “53rd NAACP Image Awards” were announced. Nominees included Ariana DeBose, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Encanto, Cynthia Erivo, Audra McDonald, Respect, Taraji P. Nominations for the 2021 Critics Choice Awards were announced this afternoon and a slew of Broadway favorites are in the running at this year's ceremony.

Succession, Mare of Easttown, Insecure, Hacks, It's A Sin, The Other Two, The White Lotus, Last Week With John Oliver, Oslo, In Treatment, Love Life, and Made For Love were nominated at this year's awards. All nominated programs are available to stream on HBO Max.
