THE DJANGO, downtown Manhattan’s premier jazz club, is celebrating the next generation of jazz with a special concert series this month. During the month of May, The Django welcomes rising stars as part of its new Next Gen Series.
Omni Cultural TV Fest, a one-of-a-kind platform encouraging diversity and inclusion in television and film, announced the launch of its premiere pitching event, Pitch It! Produced in partnership with NATPE, the event gives creators and independent producers the opportunity to showcase their work to buyers and distributors via an all-day event with screenings, top-rated industry panels, workshops, and award show ceremonies. Pitch It! is part of the virtual festival taking place Thursday, June 9th via S.T.R.E.A.M. World, an avatar populated digital platform.
The performance was at the Tragniew Park Tennis Courts in Compton, California, where Venus and Serena Williams trained when they were younger. The performance features appearances by Blue Ivy Carter, King Richard actresses, Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton, and the Compton Cowboys Junior Equestrians.
Hosted by Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall, and Amy Schumer, the 94th Oscars featured appearances by Liza Minnelli, Halle Bailey, Stephanie Beatriz, H.E.R., Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L. Jackson, Lily James, Lady Gaga, John Leguizamo, Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Rachel Zegler, and more.

Ariana DeBose took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the recent film adaptation of West Side Story. The film also won in the Best Film Editing category.
