Tony Awards React to Will Smith Oscars Slap; Include Violence Policy in 2022 Invites

The Tony Awards are fastly approaching and producers are making sure that rules are in place to prevent events like those that went down at this year's Oscars. The New York Times' Michael Paulson notes that tickets for the ceremony come with a mention of a 'no violence policy', presumably brought upon by Will Smith's incident at the 2022 Academy Awards.
Carlinhos Brown and Siedah Garrett Join BLACK ORPHEUS Creative Team

Producers Stephen Byrd and Alia Jones-Harvey announced that Academy Award Nominated and Latin Grammy Winner Carlinhos Brown and Academy Award Nominated and Grammy Award Winner Siedah Garrett have joined the all-star creative team of the new musical stage adaptation of Black Orpheus as composer and lyricist, respectively.

Produced in partnership with NATPE, the event gives creators and independent producers the opportunity to showcase their work to buyers and distributors via an all-day event with screenings, top-rated industry panels, workshops, and award show ceremonies. Pitch It! is part of the virtual festival taking place Thursday, June 9th via S.T.R.E.A.M. World, an avatar populated digital platform.

Peacock’s drama series Bel-Air has reunited original The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air stars Daphne Maxwell Reid (Frank's Place, Snoops) and Vernee Watson-Johnson (General Hospital, Bob Hearts Abishola). Both will guest star in the new hit series. Daphne Maxwell Reid played Aunt Viv and Vernee Watson-Johnson played Viola 'Vy' Smith in the original.
