Experience seven world and Chicago premieres at the CUT TO THE CHASE festival of one-act plays presented by The Artistic Home.

The Artistic Home will present the 20th anniversary of its Cut To The Chase one-act play festival, featuring six handpicked 10-minute plays, showcasing Artistic Home Studio actors, playing five intimate performances January 26 – 29, 2022 at The Den Theatre (2A), 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood.

Ruth Kirschner will be offering a Writing Workshop on Saturday, April 2 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm following the opening night of Whippoorwill. The Writing Workshop will take place in the President Circle Room of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ on the campus of Centenary University.

Chicago Dramatists today announces its schedule for new summer classes. Broadway In Chicago and Emerald City Theatre are pleased to announce A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS by Charles M. Schulz returns to the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut) November 11, 2016 through January 8, 2017, after playing to sold-out houses during the 2015 holiday season. Based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson and adapted for the stage by Eric Schaefferby special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson,  this newly-staged production of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS will be directed by Ann Filmer.

Open enrollment for Chicago Dramatists Summer Courses continues at www.chicagodramatists.org or 312-633-0630 for classes set to begin in mid-June. The quarterly schedule of courses is designed for beginning and experienced playwrights. Classes are taught by some of Chicago's finest writers, educators, dramaturgs and directors. First-timers, network/resident playwrights and college students receive discounted tuition.

The Jeff Awards Committee today announced 128 nominations in 24 categories of Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014. The Non-Equity Awards honor excellence in Chicago theatres not under a union contract. Jeff judges attended opening nights of 147 productions offered by 65 Non-Equity producing organizations. The judges recommended 66 of those shows, making them eligible for Non-Equity Jeff Award nominations. Thirty theatre companies received nominations.

The Den Theatre is pleased to launch its 2014 season with the world premiere crime caper THE ROPER by Chicago playwright Will Dunne, directed by ensemble member Ron Wells, playing March 3 - April 13, 2014 on The Den Theatre Mainstage, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Tickets go on sale Monday, February 3 at www.thedentheatre.com. The press performance is Thursday, March 6 at 7:30 pm.
