The producers of the multi award-winning, critically acclaimed production of CABARET at the KIT KAT CLUB has announced that from Monday 25 September 2023, the roles of The Emcee and Sally Bowles will be played by music icons Jake Shears and Rebecca Lucy Taylor AKA Self Esteem.

Burning Coal Theatre Company will present its production of What If If Only (US premiere) and Air (world premiere) by Caryl Churchill, directed by Ana Radulescu, June 9 - 26, 2022.  This production, directed by Burning Coal’s Associate Artistic Director, will be performed at Burning Coal’s home, the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC 27604. 

In Hamilton, George III has become a more well-known King, albeit portrayed as a comedic figure; the monarch who lost Britain America. In Alan Bennett's thoughtful play, The Madness of King George III, he is depicted as a man who struggles with mental illness, familial betrayal and attempts to usurp his power. After first appearing at the National Theatre in 1991, this enthralling revival was filmed at the Nottingham Playhouse in 2018, directed astutely by Adam Penfold.

Today the first episode of The Lockdown Plays, Cordelia Lynn Fragments, is released on podcast provider platform Acast.

Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who, The Thick Of It, Paddington) will star in Martin's Close, airing this Christmas on BBC Four.

Troupe today announces the full cast for The Sweet Science of Bruising by Joy Wilkinson which transfers to Wilton's Music Hall, following its sold-out run at Southwark Playhouse last year. Kirsty Patrick Ward directs Owen Brenman (Professor Charlie Sharp), Celeste Dodwell (Violet Hunter), Jane How (Aunt George), Tom Lorcan (Paul Stokes), Emma McDonald (Anna Lamb) and Wilf Scolding (Gabriel Lamb) alongside returning cast, Ashley Cook (Doctor James Bell), Alice Kerrigan (Emily), Jessica Regan (Matilda 'Matty' Blackwell) and Fiona Skinner (Polly Stokes). The production opens at Wilton's Music Hall on 7 June, with previews from 5 June, and runs until 29 June.

The Theatre Royal Bath is delighted to announce the cast for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, the final production in the theatre's highly acclaimed summer season featuring Phill Jupitus in his first ever Shakespeare role, and directed by Laurence Boswell. English Touring Theatre and Theatre Royal Brighton Productions today announced casting for a new touring production of Tom Stoppard's comedy masterpiece, Arcadia, which will be the first major national tour since 1993, and over 20 years since the play has been seen by audiences around the UK.
