Mark Rylance and Sean Foley are to appear in special one-off performance at Old Vic of I Am Shakespeare as part of the 100th anniversary of the Shakespearean Authorship Trust. 

Turner Classic Movies (TMC) will present a 12-film tribute to Angela Lansbury on November 21st. The 24-hour marathon will include some of her most memorable films including Gaslight and The Manchurian Candidate, as well as an airing of the 1982 filmed production of Sweeney Todd. Dame Angela Lansbury passed away on October 11, 2022, at the age of 96.

Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSGE) announced that by demand, legendary musician and MSG franchise Billy Joel has added another show as part of his record-breaking residency at The World’s Most Famous Arena on Valentine’s Day – February 14, 2023. The February show will mark Joel’s 88th monthly and 134th lifetime show at The Garden.

Rita Gardner, who starred as Luisa in the original Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, has passed away at the age of 87 from leukemia, according to friend and collegue Alex Rybeck.

Paul Hodge, who wrote Clinton: The Musical, is helping with the rewrite. Original producer Cameron Mackintosh has returned the rights to the creators and will not be involved.

Henry Holt, a division of Macmillan Publishers, has acquired actor John Stamos’s memoir, If You Would Have Told Me. Stamos is the critically acclaimed, Emmy-nominated actor whose multifaceted career spans four decades. Executive Editor James Melia acquired the book from Esther Newberg and Kristyn Keene Benton at CAA.

Nathan Lane, 3-time Tony Award winner and favorite of the screen and stage won his first Emmy Award last night, after six previous nominations (three for Modern Family, and one each for The Good Wife, Frasier and Mad About You).

TIFF has shared details of a special In Conversation With… Taylor Swift as part of the 47th annual Toronto International Film Festival. Swift will introduce the first-ever screening of All Too Well: The Short Film on 35mm, and join TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey in an engaging conversation about filmmaking and the visual aspects of her music. 

A revival of Yasmina Reza's Art  might open on Broadway in Spring 2023. Starring Alec Baldwin, Tony Shalhoub, and John Leguizamo, it will be directed by Tony winner Matthew Warchus, who also helmed the original production in 1998. It will reportedly play at a Shubert theatre.

Gearing up for the holiday season, Jimmy Fallon, Willie Nelson, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jimmie Allen, Zach Williams and Miley Cyrus have been cast as guest stars in NBC’s “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas.” In addition to the legendary Dolly Parton in the lead role, the film will star Tom Everett Scott, Ana Gasteyer and Angel Parker.
