Review: MY FAIR LADY at Des Moines Performing Arts

In March 2020, just a few weeks before 'My Fair Lady' was supposed to play at Des Moines Performing Arts, the Covid 19 pandemic hit Iowa, causing the Des Moines leg of the tour to be postponed. After an almost two-and-a-half-year delay, the show has finally made its way to the Civic Center Stage. After attending opening night on August 2, I can only say this 'loverly' production has been well worth the wait.

IT HAPPENED IN KEY WEST Original Cast Recording to be Released

The London Hit-, It Happened in Key West, will receive an Original Cast Recording available digitally, Friday, June 17th. It Happened in Key West features Book, Music, and Lyrics By Broadway Composer, Jill Santoriello, Book and Additional Lyrics by Jason Huza, and Book/Original Concept by Jeremiah James.

Triangle Productions! to Present Wade McCollum in MR. MADAM

Wade McCollum is returning to Portland and to the theatre company where he began his professional career back in 1998 – triangle productions! He is starring in a one-person show about Kenneth Marlowe an early pioneer in the gay movement. His career took him to perform as a female impersonator/stripper in the 1940s and 50s  then as  a male madam, to which he wrote about in his best seller Mr. Madam about his escapades to transitioning at the age of 50 to become Kate Marlowe.

BWW Review: MY FAIR LADY The Licoln Center Theater Production at Proctors

Directed by Bartlett Sher this production remains true to the original, but some updates have been made including some refreshing of the book and dialogue some of which shine a brighter light on the equality of the sexes despite social norms of the time.  Much of which was notably popular with the audience.
