Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce THE PROMPTER, the first production of the 2019 Mainstage Season, had a successful opening night on June 1. The show runs through June 16. BWW Review: The World Premiere of THE PROMPTER at Bay Street Theater

Kicking off their 28th season of surefire hits, the Bay Street Theater offers the world premiere of Wade Dooley's The Prompter. Initially, the Sag Harbor, Long Island, venue presented a reading of the one-act play last year during their annual New Works Festival to much praise. Running through June 16th, it is thrilling to see how the show has developed.

BWW Review: JERSEY BOYS: THE STORY OF FRANKIE VALLI & THE FOUR SEASONS, Oh, What a Night! at Theatre League, Broadway in Wichita

On a cold, snowy night in Wichita, Jersey Boys played to a packed house at Century II on Tuesday February 19, 2019. The jukebox musical tells the biographical story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, one of the most best-selling groups of all time. Presented through NetWorks Presentations, the cast was spearheaded by Jonathan Cable, Eric Chambliss, Corey Greenan and Jonny Wexler as the fabulous core of that famous quartet.

Bay Street Theater Announces THE PROMPTER For The 2019 Mainstage Season

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the first show of the 2019 Mainstage Season will be the World Premiere of THE PROMPTER (May 28- June 16) a new comedy by Wade Dooley; directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director. The other two previously announced shows will be the World Premiere of SAFE SPACE, which will now run from June 25 - July 21. This new play is by Alan Fox and will be directed by three-time Tony Award Winner Jack O'Brien (All My Sons, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia). The third show will be a bold new re-envisioning of Irving Berlin's classic musical ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, (July 30 - August 25) with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, book by Herbert & Dorothy Fields. This production will be directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Bay Street's Frost/Nixon). The casts and creative teams will be announced soon. NEWSical Celebrates 3000 Performances

On Jan 26th, 2019 NEWSical The Musical, the 10th longest running Off-Broadway show and 3rd longest running musical revue in NY history, will be celebrating its 3000th performance at Theatre Row.  To celebrate the milestone the show will be receiving a proclamation from Speaker of the City Council, Corey Johnson, as well as a proclamation from the New York State Assembly.

Bay Street Theater Announces Successful New Works Festival

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the success of Title Wave at Bay Street: The 5th Annual New Works Festival, which took place at Bay Street TheaterFriday, May 4 - Sunday, May 6.  The audience responded positively to all four readings and had the unique opportunity to hear new works read by actors based in both New York City and the Hamptons, including legendary actresses Estelle Parsons (Roseanne, Bonnie and Clyde) and Jane Alexander (All the President's Men, The Great White Hope). After each reading, the audience had the opportunity to participate in a talkback with the playwrights and directors, where they were able to ask questions and give feedback on the play.

A spirited audience of thousands went back to campus with stripped-down collegians who offered a sexy lacrosse scrimmage, a Pavlovian psychology experiment, a pumped-up pep rally and a fierce feminist studies class at Broadway Bares: Strip U, this year's edition of the annual highly choreographed, highly produced striptease spectacular. Produced by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Broadway Bares: Strip U raised $1,568,114 in two performances on June 18, 2017, at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom.
