Sondheim Unplugged will celebrate its 100th performances as series creator passes the torch to a new host.

Broadway veteran Kurt Peterson (Dear World, Follies) will appear in the NYC concert debut of Proud Ladies at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center (129 W. 67th St.) on Monday, October 10 at 7:00pm.

Last summer, Columbus theatre-lovers flew to New York to see Springer favorite Michael Stiggers make his Broadway debut in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.  There was a cheering crowd waiting outside the stage door, then dinner, toasts and speeches at Sardi's Restaurant.

Name an opera or operetta and it is likely listed in soprano Sarah Rice's repertoire. Over her long and illustrious career, she has starred and performed in a myriad of productions all across the map, from Broadway to Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Italy. Strauss, Salieri, Sondheim--- it's there. Now, in her first solo show since 2013, Rice will debut her new show Music of the Night (borrowing, of course, from Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, in which Rice played Christine in the National Tour) at Pangea Restaurant Pangea Restaurant (2nd Avenue between 11th and 12th streets) on August 17, 18, and September 20, all at 7 pm. Alongside pianist Matthew Martin Ward (Eric Sedgwick for the September show) and special guest David Vernon, she will sing and play a set aimed to explain 'the things that go through your head at 4:00 AM,' covering classical, Celtic, television and movie themes, and musical theatre.

Ghostlight Records will release the concert recording of When Everything Was Possible, an exciting and poignant evening celebrating Broadway's Golden Age starring Kurt Peterson and Victoria Mallory, on May 13.

Sondheim Unplugged, New York's long running hit revue, will celebrate the 50th installment of the series with two very special gala performances on Sunday, December 27th at 7pm and 9:30pm at Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th St., Cellar, NYC). This spring Kurt Peterson and Stephenie Skyllas will release a digitally mastered, archival recording of 'When Everything Was Possible - A Concert (with comments)' as memorial tribute to Victoria Mallory. Recorded live at New York City Center on April 29, 2012, 'When Everything Was Possible' was a memorable evening of song and story featuring Kurt Peterson and Victoria Mallory, in what would be her final public stage performance. Mallory, one of the brightest lights of Broadway's Golden Era, tragically passed away from pancreatic cancer on August 30, 2014.
