Shea's Performing Arts Center (PAC) has announced Shea's 2020 Virtual Summer Camps.

Summer is here, and that means an abundance of heat, sunshine, and creativity just waiting to be brought to life. While the global health crisis may still be keeping the doors to most theaters shut, theater companies around the country have risen to the challenge and created new doors to walk through- virtual ones!

In August of 2019, I began my freshman year as a Musical Theater major in the School of Theater, Film, and Media Arts at Temple University in Philadelphia. I had not pictured myself going to school in a city, however as soon as I visited, I fell in love!

Oh my goodness, my first post! I'm so excited to share my thoughts and ideas with all of you. First off, I would like to look back on the past semester.

Tacoma Little Theatre has announced its selection of Summer Camp classes now available for enrollment.  To make sure that students and staff are safe, and have an opportunity to experience the Performing Arts, TLT has moved to a Virtual Camp model. 

During this time when productions all over the world have been put on pause, we are coming together to celebrate plays that have left their mark on theater history. This week we will be focusing on the plays of Anton Chekhov. Today's play, The Seagull!

Michelle Danner Acting Studio is offering live Online interactive acting classes at a reduced rate valid through May 15. Experience real time live interaction with your instructor and your classmates.

The producers of the Broadway revival of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? announced today that the production will not open when Broadway resumes performances, due to ensuing cast scheduling conflicts amid the shutdown.

Michelle Danner Acting Studio and Los Angeles Acting Conservatory's online acting classes will continue during the Coronavirus outbreak while on-site classes have been temporarily cancelled. 'As things begin to change rapidly with the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), we are taking precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff and have cancelled all on-site classes at the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory,a?? said Danner.

Montalvo Arts Center invites audiences to celebrate the Easter Season with the sinfully funny Late Nite Catechism: Sister's Easter Catechism, led by America's beloved ruler-wielding nun.

Goodwill Cultural Ambassador Ronald Rand, recently returned from performing at Nairobi's National Theatre in The Kenya International Theater Festival, will celebrate his 20th year of touring, performing his celebrated solo play, LET IT BE ART! in a special performance presented by Tennessee Valley Art Association (TVAA) at The Ritz Theatre's Ritz Studio in Sheffield, Alabama on February 29th.

The second installment of Dirt Dogs Theatre Co.'s fourth season is the regional premiere of Angus MacLachlan's The Dead Eye Boy. A gripping story that explores how sex, violence, and affection can all be confused for love, The Dead Eye Boy was the recipient of the 2000 Rosenthal New Play Prize, premiering at the Cincinnati Playhouse before making an Off-Broadway run. In the riveting drama, Shirley-Diane sees her teenage son, Soren, as a painful reminder of her past. Her ex-con boyfriend, Billy, sees Soren as a reflection of his own childhood. As Billy tries to friend the troubled boy, the dysfunction of hard-core addiction and manipulation blur the lines of control and love between the three .

Two-time Tony Award and three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf and Rupert Everett will lead the upcoming Broadway revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, and also starring Russell Tovey and 2019 Olivier Award winner Patsy Ferran, the production will begin its strictly limited engagement on Monday, March 3, 2020, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Booth Theatre.

HB Studio, one of New York's original acting studios, will celebrate its diamond jubilee year with a series of programs and special events which will not only honor its storied 75-year past, but also highlight its role in developing the talent of today and the future.

This year's UEA Drama season, running from 3 - 8 December, features two plays by Timberlake Wertenbaker, one of the UK's most renowned contemporary female playwrights and currently the Chair in Playwrighting at the University Of East Anglia. In an increasingly divisive political time when fears over borders, ecological collapse, and censorship are commonplace, UEA Theatre Productions are staging The Break of Day, and The Love of the Nightingale, twoplays with strong themes of feminism, displacement and reclaiming the future.

 Critically acclaimed performers, Austin Pendleton and Barbara Bleier, return to NY's Pangea nightclub in the East village with a brand new show, 'Bits and Pieces.' The show will play Tuesdays, January 7th, 14th and 21st, 2020. 7;00 p.m. 

Deadline reports that Kay Cannon, who directed 'Blockers' and wrote 'Pitch Perfect,' will write an upcoming biopic about improv giants Del Close and Charna Halpern.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS has won many awards over the years including seven Tony Awards. CATS has been rediscovered by audiences everywhere and will be coming to San Antonio, Texas and the Majestic Theatre from October 29-November 3, 2019. BWW caught up with Timothy Gulan who plays the part of Bustopher Jones among other cats. He shared with us some fun backstage secrets including make-up and costume preparations.
