BWW Review: Realistic Drama Told in SUPERIOR DONUTS at SHEA'S 710 THEATRE

A gritty reality that is so true to form that you have to remind yourself you are watching a play, versus eavesdropping on someone's life... That is what is playing out in Tracy Letts'  SUPERIOR DONUTS, now at Shea's 710 Theatre in a winning production by Road Less Traveled Productions.

TV: Tracy Letts & Company Celebrate Opening Night of LINDA VISTA on Broadway!

The Hayes Theatre was the place to be last night as Linda Vista, by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County), officially opened on Broadway. Linda Vista is a brutally comedic look at Wheeler, a 50-year-old divorcee in the throes of a mid-life spiral.

BWW Review: Abrasive, Insensitive Men Need Lovin', Too in Tracy Letts' LINDA VISTA

If there ever was a demand for greater representation on Broadway stages for straight, single, cisgender white guys in their 50s who are insensitive to the women he manages to date and have sex with, Tracy Letts' Linda Vista would surely fill the void. A sort of 21st Century toxic male take on Paddy Chayefsky's classic 'Marty', Letts' new one has its funny moments, and maybe even a bit of poignancy here and there, but is it worth spending nearly three hours watching some full-of-himself average lug continually screw up his romantic opportunities?

When Peter Nichols wrote the ground-breaking play A Day in the Death of Joe Egg in 1967, it was inspired by his own personal experience of bringing up his disabled daughter.
