The Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts presents the Los Angeles premiere of Renee Taylor's MY LIFE ON A DIET, the award-winning, autobiographical comedy written by Taylor and Joseph Bologna, which opens its 12 performance, limited engagement on Friday, April 5 and continues through Sunday, April 14, 2019, in The Wallis's Bram Goldsmith Theater.

The award-winning, autobiographical comedy MY LIFE ON A DIET, starring Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning writer and actress Renee Taylor, will kick off a national tour this spring with three performances at The Gateway, Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County (215 South Country Road, Bellport, NY 11713) on Friday, March 15 at 8pm and Saturday, March 16 at 3pm & 8pm. The tour continues with a limited run at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' Lovelace Studio Theater (9390 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90210) from Friday, April 5 through Sunday, April 14. Dates in other cities across the U.S. and in Canada will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Bay Area theater community will honor the life and career of theatrical legend and San Francisco local treasure, Carol Channing, with the dimming of the lights on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 7:45 p.m. PST for one minute. This will echo Wednesday's dimming of the lights of Broadway theaters in New York. American Conservatory Theater, Curran, Feinstein's at the Nikko, and Lowell High School will participate, and with Theatre Bay Area and its 300 theater company members, other theaters throughout the Bay Area will pay tribute to Channing throughout the day, shining a light on her marque performances over social media.

M&M American Dance Theatre will present "Broadway Love Songs, Dances & Backstage Stories" starring renowned husband and wife song and dance team Michael Kessler and Melinda Jackson in an intimate journey celebrating the art of musical theatre, told through the eyes of a tender and funny 95-year-old couple who have seen and/or performed in every Broadway musical. The show is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the 330-seat waterfront Aventura Cultural Arts Center, 3385 N.E. 188 Street in Aventura.

Playhouse on Park's education department, Playhouse Theatre Academy, is thrilled to welcome back Stephanie Pope for another Fosse Adult Master Class on Monday, January 21 from 6-8pm at The 224 Ecospace! All performers (ages 16 and up!) who have a vested interest in the performing arts are encouraged to attend this amazing class.

Singer-songwriter Steve Grand will make his Feinstein's at the Nikko debut with his solo show, Up Close and Personal,on Wednesday, February 20 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, February 21 at 8 p.m. In this intimate evening, Grand will perform songs from his critically-acclaimed new album, "not the end of me," as well as favorites from his debut album, "All-American Boy."

This holiday season, Goodman Theatre presents The Santaland Diaries-David Sedaris' 'vivid, hilarious portrait of family Christmas with his deft combination of wicked humor and scalpel-sharp observation' (Chicago Magazine). Emmy Award-winning TV personality, style expert, fashion designer, and New York Times best-selling author Carson Kressley and Billboard magazine's "Dance Music Artist of the Decade" Kristine W will bring their hit show, Stand Up With a Twist, to Feinstein's at the Nikko on Friday, January 25 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, January 26 at 8 p.m. In this unique night of comedy and music, Carson and Kristine take audiences on a journey through their showbiz experiences filled with laughter and the songs that unite us all.
