Peterborough Players has announced their 2020 Summer Season, where 'Anything can happen...'! The Players has a lot to celebrate as this summer commemorates not only the 87th year of the Players, but the 25th season of lauded leadership team, Artistic Director Gus Kaikkonen and Managing Director Keith Stevens.

Blues-folk singer-songwriter Chris Smither returns to Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday, May 8, at 9pm, to perform his impassioned blend of original and classic blues-influenced American roots music.

Michael Cleveland celebrated a very big weekend with two career milestone achievements. The two-time nominee was awarded his first GRAMMY® by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) and the Louisville (KY) Federation of Musicians recognized Cleveland as their 2020 Musician of the Year.

Old Man Luedecke is the recording and performing name of Christopher Luedecke, 2 time JUNO and multi East Coast Music award-winner, and Polaris Prize nominee of Chester Nova Scotia. Since 2004 he has travelled the world playing festivals, theatres and clubs. He delights his audiences with his heart-felt command of the stage. Centenary Stage Company's Fringe Festival kicks off October 24 through October 27 with The Things They Carried.

With the radio release of Tall Fiddler just a few short weeks ago, Michael Cleveland is celebrating a successful venture with his latest Compass Records album co-produced by Nashville hitmakers, Jeff White and Sean Sullivan. The 12-track project featuring cross-genre musicians Tommy Emmanuel, Sam Bush, Del McCoury, Bela Fleck, The Travelin' McCourys, Guthrie Trapp, Tim O'Brien, Dan Tyminski, Jerry Douglas, and Cleveland's own award winning band (IBMA's 5-Time Instrumental Group) Flamekeeper, is perfectly poised to be one of the year's best efforts.

The 3rd Annual Logan Festival of Solo Performance, presented with generous support from the Reva & David Logan Foundation, will run at 1st Stage from July 11-21, 2019. This innovative festival, acclaimed in The Washington Post with "three plays prove the power of one," will gather celebrated solo performers from across the country for two-weeks of performances, workshops, discussions, and events. Centenary Stage Company announces 2019/20 season of events with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Darlene Love slated to kick off the season. Now available to Season Subscribers the 2019/20 season features a host of professional theatre productions including the return of Centenary Stage Company's popular Fringe Festival, the January Music Festival highlighting an array of top tier musicians, as well as a vast selection of dance events featuring premiere professional dance companies. In 1945 rural Georgia, the long, hot days of summer bring struggle, longing, and opportunity for 12-year-old Frankie Addams and her family's housekeeper Bernice Sadie Brown. Frankie longs to escape with her newlywed brother on adventures in the Alaskan wilderness. Bernice struggles to balance enduring the deeply entrenched racism of the rural South with her role as surrogate mother to Frankie and her 6-year-old cousin. Adapted from the beloved novel of the same name, this evocative, poetic coming of age drama explores the pains of youth and the meaning of family.

Hot Rize, one of the most respected and influential bands in bluegrass music, is pleased to announce the release of their aptly named new record Hot Rize 40th Anniversary Bash, recorded live at Boulder Theatre, over the course of three sold out shows in January of this year. Hot Rize (Nick Forster on bass, Pete Wernick on banjo, Tim O'Brien on mandolin and fiddle, and Bryan Sutton on guitar) were joined by longtime musical friends Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan, and Sam Bush, treating Boulder to three nights of unforgettable music. “We wanted to have a party,” says Forster.  “We wanted to have a full-out bash!” And now, on August 3rd, celebrating the anniversary of the band's 40th year together, fans worldwide are musically invited to the party, as the band selecting 19 of the best of those unforgettable performances for the new record. On Monday, Relixreleased the video for “Colleen Malone,” Wernick commenting that he “ ...learned this touching and lyrical song from the writer himself, Pete Goble, on his bus one day at a festival in the 1980s. The band liked it right away and our version became Song of the Year in 1991. It already seems to have become a standard at bluegrass jam sessions.” Watch here.

This latest single, penned by Loudermilk and Wayne Benson has received fantastic audience response during the band's live performances on their coast-to-coast tour.  The newly completed album “The Test of Time” is slated for full release in mid-summer, 2018.

- FST concludes its Stage III Series-the theatre's program devoted to edgier work-with The Things They Carried, based on Tim O'Brien's collection of short stories of the same name. Dramatized by Jim Stowell, this moving one-man show explores morality and the ethics of war. A regional premiere, The Things They Carried runs in the Bowne's Lab Theatre from March 21 through April 13, 2018.
