Dowling, Karen MacDonald, and Bobbie Steinbach tastefully disrobe for a photo shoot to produce a calendar for charity. Cheryl McMahon, Kathy St. George, Jade Guerra, Michael Kaye, Sean McGuirk, and Nael Nacer keep their clothes on, but add to the fun.
BWW Album Review: CALENDAR GIRLS (Original London Recording) is Just Nice
by David Clarke
- Apr 20, 2018
Recently released CALENDAR GIRLS (Original London Recording)cis just perfectly nice. So, it is no surprise that the music and this cast was recorded for preservation; however, the two-disc album doesn't convince listeners that this musical is better than the original film as some British theater writers claim.
BWW Review: THE BAND, Bristol Hippodrome
by Tim Wright
- Apr 18, 2018
Pop music and musicals make good bedfellows for two main reasons. Firstly, pop music has a kind of duality - a song can mean entirely different things in different contexts. Secondly, pop music normally has just the right amount of sentimentality. The Band is a demonstration of how to harness both these qualities and bundle them into two hours of entertainment.
