POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN Renewed for Season Five

Following the conclusion of its third season in late 2023, Power Book III: Raising Kanan has just been renewed for a fifth season. The fourth season is currently filming in New York. The series stars MeKai Curtis in the titular role of Kanan, Tony and Grammy Award winner Patina Miller as his mother, Hailey Kilgore as Jukebox, and more.

Julia Nicole Hunter Comes Home to Tennessee, Playing Grace Farrell in ANNIE

In the world of theater, there exists a sisterhood of women who can count an appearance as an orphan (maybe even THE orphan) in a production of Annie as either their first onstage role or one of their most vivid onstage performances. But for Murfreesboro native Julia Nicole Hunter, who now stars as Grace Farrell in the national touring company of the seven-time Tony Award-winning musical coming to  Tennessee Performing Arts Center this week, her current role as Oliver Warbucks’ faithful assistant marks her first time ever in the show.

This iteration of its London revival production ten years ago has found more inclusive storytelling with the casting of non-binary performer Seann Miley Moore in the lead role of The Engineer.

INTO THE WOODS, CLUE, and DEATH OF A SALESMAN Win Big at The St. Louis Theater Circle Awards

Last evening at The Loretto-Hilton Center, the St. Louis theatre community gathered for The St. Louis Theatre Circle Awards Gala. Thirty-Four awards were handed out with three productions winning big: The New Jewish Theatre’s production of INTO THE WOODS and STAGES St. Louis production of CLUE won 5 awards each, and The Black Rep’s production of DEATH OF A SALESMAN won 4 awards. Each of the three were named the best of their category, INTO THE WOODS was named Outstanding Production of a Musical, CLUE was named Outstanding Production of a Comedy, and DEATH OF A SALESMAN was named Outstanding Production of a Drama.
