The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) has announced nominations for the 2024 MUAHS Guild Awards. The MUAHS Awards represent a spectrum of outstanding achievements in 23 categories of make-up and hair styling artistry in motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos and live theater.

Katie's Tales, a vocal and poetic piece performed by Agnieszka Kazimierska, is coming to the United Solo Festival. United Solo, the world’s largest solo theatre festival, will open its 15th season at New York City’s Theatre Row on September 26, 2023, with a performance of two-time Lambda Literary Award Finalist Letty Neely’s play, “Pulling It All Into the Current.” Running through November 19, 2023, the festival features daily performances of a diverse group of shows from around the world.

 To share a tour de force performance with a wider audience, and encouraged by glowing reviews to-date, La MaMa has extended 'Han!' written and performed by Hyun Ju Baek, directed by Thomas Richards, for one week.  

“The Potential of Song,” a Masterclass led by Thomas Richards, theater director and former Artistic Director of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards in Pontedera, Italy, and assisted by members of Theatre No Theatre, will introduce each participant to an exploration of work on songs of tradition.

Houston, January 13, 2016—Houston Grand Opera (HGO) will present the world premiere of The Root of the Wind Is Water, a chamber opera by composer David Hanlon and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann, directed by Matthew Ozawa, on May 13 at 7 p.m. at the Wortham Theater Center and on May 15 at 7 p.m. at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston. Presented under the auspices of HGOco, the company's community collaboration and education initiative, The Root of the Wind Is Water explores the impact of hurricanes on the Texas Gulf Coast through the eyes of the residents who call the region home. The opera will be HGO's 61st world premiere.
