The Atlanta Opera is presenting its first mainstage event of the new season with a new co-production of Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto on Nov 4 -7, 2023 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. One of the composer's most celebrated operas, Rigoletto tells a poignant tale of love, betrayal, and revenge. San Diego Opera's 2022-2023 Season continues with The Puccini Duo: a double-bill of the tragic Suor Angelica and the witty comic opera Gianni Schicchi on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the San Diego Civic Theatre for four performances. Cincinnati Opera today shared updated cast, production, and schedule details for its 2022 Summer Festival, which will take place June 18 through July 31, 2022. After two seasons away, the company returns this summer to its longtime performance venues, Cincinnati Music Hall and the School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA).

With music and lyrics by Australian comedian and songwriter Tim Minchin and based on the book by Roald Dahl, “Matilda The Musical” tells the story of a remarkable little girl named Matilda Wormwood and her gallant struggle to create a better life for herself, despite the best efforts of the maliciously misguided adults determined to thwart her.

The season will take place July 11-31 at Summit Park, located in the heart of Blue Ash, Ohio, and will feature internationally renowned artists, the Cincinnati Opera Chorus, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

The Dallas Opera will make the company’s popular 2019 production of Mozart’s family-friendly The Magic Flute available free for home viewing for a limited time. This fanciful, wildly colorful production was originally simulcast live in high definition to a Dallas audience at Klyde Warren Park.
