Interview: Writer/Director Melanie MacQueen on ALL THESE WOMEN

On October 19, Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills is presenting a reading of All These Women, written and directed by Melanie MacQueen. Centering on the newly elected president Woodrow Wilson, the story delves into how the Women’s Suffrage Parade pushed him to finally agree to Voting Rights for All. I decided to speak with Melanie about how the play came into being, her plans to present it as a reading, and how she plans to keep presenting it in the future.

Silver Palm Awards to Present FINSTROM FOLLIES Fundraiser Next Month

The Finstrom Follies will be presented at Island City Stage in Wilton Manors on Monday, September 23rd at 7PM. The event will include musical numbers and a video presentation, along with a raffle. The evening will culminate with the announcement of this year's Silver Palm Award honorees.

Dezart Performs Nominated for 26 Desert Star Awards

Heading into Season 17, Dezart Performs www.dezartperforms.org, has secured 26 nominations for the 38th annual Desert Star Awards honoring theatrical performers in the Coachella Valley and High Desert communities for the 2023-2024 season. Winners will be announced by the Desert Theatre League October 20th in a live ceremony at Sun City Palm Desert.

THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR Comes to Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival

Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival will present Shakespeare’s fan favorite comedy, The Merry Wives of Windsor. Directed by Matt Pfeiffer, the production runs June 26 to July 7 on the Main Stage at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of DeSales University.

Previews: PALM SPRINGS YOUNG PLAYRIGHTS FESTIVAL at Palm Springs Cultural Center

The Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival (PSYPF) announced that is has now selected all of the cast members for the three plays it will present at the upcoming Festival, which will take place at the Palm Springs Cultural Center on June 9, 2024 at 12 PM. This free annual Festival will showcase original plays created by three area students which will be performed as staged readings using professional actors and directors.
