PuSh International Performing Arts Festival (PuSh) presents the Western Canadian premiere of Montreal choreographer Dana Gingras' visually arresting new work, FRONTERA, for one-night only, January 30, 2020 at 8pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Gingras and her internationally lauded dance company, Animals of Distinction, collaborate with the experimental post-rock band Fly Pan Am and members of the UK-based collective United Visual Artists to create a provocative multimedia experience of motion, sound, and light. The fall season is comprised of Joe's Pub debuts like Max Vernon and The Tiger Lillies; familiar faces like Justin Vivian Bond, John Kelly, and Shaina Taub; and two New York Voices commissions: Refrigerated Dreams, a collaboration from Nona Hendryx and Carrie Mae Weems, and Murray Hill's About To Break, directed by Scott Wittman. Through character comedy, satirical songs and off-the-cuff stand-up covering the contradictions of slut-shaming to Instagram-envy, Isobel Rogers explores cultural stereotypes and what lies underneath. Isobel Rogers' debut show is directed by Sara Joyce, who directed Milly Thomas' The Stage Award-winning Dust at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 and was recently announced as one of the Old Vic 12 directors for 2017/18.
