BWW Interview: Theatre Life with Joshua Morgan

You might know today's subject Joshua Morgan from his many performances in and around the DC area. He has worked at such prestigious local theatres as Arena Stage, Theater J, Folger Theatre, and Rep Stage. He also ran a wonderful theatre company called No Rules Theatre Company for years.

BWW Review: THE QUEEN BEES at Connecticut Cabaret Theatre

THE QUEEN BEES is a different type of jukebox musical, one that focuses on the rise to stardom of a fictional 'girl group' trio of the 1960s, one whose story holds similarities to that of the Shangri-Las. Excellent singing and acting by a talented cast of three make this show a highly recommendable experience, at the Connecticut Cabaret Theatre, in Berlin.

BWW Review: DREAMGIRLS at Playhouse On The Square

Tear down the mountains. Yell, scream and shout for Dreamgirls, Playhouse on the Square's final musical offering of its 2017-2018 season. Co-directed and choreographed by Jordan Nichols and Travis Bradley, Playhouse on the Square's Dreamgirls is a two and a half hour theatrical energy drink, jam packed with slick production numbers performed by a fresh cast that is plainly up to the task of quenching the audience's thirst for a great time. There is much to be excited about with this production of Dreamgirls, which seems uniquely at home in Memphis, a city whose history and reputation are so intertwined with music and the superstars it has produced. Although the first third of Act I can be described as somewhat frenetic, the production quickly settles in and finds its footing, anchored by electrifying, well-directed performances by Breyannah Tillman as Effie, and Napoleon M. Douglas as Jimmy Early.

VIVA LAS CHICAS is a flashback and flashforward variety show, featuring the Angels performing sketches and beloved musical numbers. 'The combined talents of these three Angels will capture the audience and take them on a tour across the border they will not soon forget!' I had the chance to chat with the ANGELS on their road trip to the desert as they were winging their way toward tonight's important desert debut. Here are a few excerpts from the conversation:
