Berkeley Playhouse opens their eleventh season of professional theater for family audiences with the legendary Broadway musical, Dreamgirls. One of the most celebrated American musicals of the 20th century, Dreamgirls was inspired by the stories and rise of R&B's most popular superstars, including The Supremes, James Brown, and the roster of artists that helped change the landscape of popular music in the 60s and 70s. Effie, Lorrell, and Deena have grown up together-they are young, determined, and talented-and they've got a dream to be the next big girl group on the radio, no matter what the cost.
The Winter Park Playhouse will rock to the classic Motown sound for a special 'one-night-only' performance on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The show will star popular international entertainer, Greta Pope and her all-male vocal group The Spaniels Forever. Net proceeds will go to support the quality musical programming on The Playhouse mainstage and out in the community.

The jukebox musical is currently the rage with Tony nominated Summer: The Donna Summer Musical on Broadway and On Your Feet! on a sell-out national tour. Des McAnuff directed and conceived Summer and Sergio Trujillo choreographed both shows. The two men join forces once more with the tour of Ain't Too Proud, The Life and Times of the Temptations currently onstage at the Ahmanson Theatre through Septembret 30.

Building upon its success in creating original music for its productions, Midsommer Flight has developed its first stand-alone album of twelve Shakespearean sonnets set to music composed by Midsommer Flight ensemble members Elizabeth Rentfro and Erick Rivera. Rentfro and Rivera have written original music for many of the company's productions, including its popular music-infused annual Twelfth Night each December.
