Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater and Door County's theatrical icon, is proud to announce it has received a $15,000 award from The Shubert Foundation. The Shubert Foundation awarded a record total of $26.8 million to 533 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across the United States. The Shubert Foundation provides grants only to organizations that have established artistic and administrative track records, as well as a pattern of fiscal responsibility.  

Project Manager Jeff Whiting, in partnership with several notable Broadway industry members, today announced the plans to build Open Jar Studios, a new rehearsal space in Times Square for rehearsals, auditions, and support offices for large-scale Broadway productions.

Anastasia on Broadway announced today a new block of tickets through June 2, 2019. Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting today, Friday, June 15.

REPERTORIO ESPAÑOL (138 E. 27 St.) - one of Off-Broadway's longest-running, continuous theaters, and the ONLY company that presents Spanish-language/English-translated plays in true repertory form in NYC - marked the occasion of its 50th anniversary on Tuesday, June 5 with a gala performance of EL CORONEL NO TIENE QUIEN LE ESCRIBA (No One Writes to the Colonel), a new play adapted from the novella by legendary Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  The evening concluded with cocktail/dinner at I Trulli. 

THE BAND'S VISIT, winner of 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical, will open its National Tour at PPAC in Providence, RI, June 25 - 30, 2019. In Providence, THE BAND'S VISIT is part of the Taco/White Family Foundation Broadway Series.

Kool and the Gang, the iconic, Grammy award winning R&B group is set to headline Only In Queens SummerStage Concert on Saturday, June 16th in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The concert will take place from 5PM-8PMand is free and open to the public.

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a successful opening night for the World Premiere of FELLOW TRAVELERS, a new play by Jack Canfora, directed by Michael Wilson. The show opened on Saturday, June 2 and was met with rave reviews and a positive audience response. FELLOW TRAVELERS, open now through June 17, 2018, is the first show in Bay Street Theater's 2018 Mainstage Season. City Parks Foundation, in partnership with Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams and Council Member Mark Treyger are thrilled to announce that SummerStage is returning to theFord Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn this summer for five free concerts between June and August.

SHN today announced a special engagement of the most acclaimed American play in recent memory: The Humans, which will be coming to the SHN Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco from June 5 through 17, 2018.

On Monday, June 25 at their annual Broadway Beacon Awards Gala at The JW Marriot Essex House (160 Central Park South), leading NYC arts education nonprofit Inside Broadway (Executive Director, Michael Presser) will honor Tony Award Nominee Ethan Slater (currently starring in the title role of the Tony-Nominated SpongeBob Square Pants the Musical). The evening will also honor Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Orin Wolf (The Band's Visit; President, NETworks Theatrical Presentations), Kenneth G. Alberstadt (Partner, Akerman LLP) and Alexandra Kambouris Alberstadt (Partner, Perkins Coie LLP). The gala will feature a special performance from the Broadway cast of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical and will be hosted by FOX5 reporter Baruch Shemtov.

Ghostlight Records celebrated the release of PRINCE OF BROADWAY Original Broadway Cast Recording with an exclusive in-store event at Barnes & Noble on Friday, June 1. PRINCE OF BROADWAY is a musical celebration highlighting the extraordinary six-decade career of director and producer Hal Prince. Mr. Prince appeared at the event in conversation with three-time Tony winner Jason Robert Brown, who co-produced the album and provided new songs, arrangements, orchestration and music supervision for the show. In addition to a CD signing, members of the original cast performed musical highlights.
