The Arts and Education Council announced today $495,500 in Operating Support Grants for 20 arts organizations across the bi-state region. The grants, made possible by contributions from thousands of individual, corporate and foundation donors, are part of the $1.7 million the Arts and Education Council invests in the community each year.

Charles Glenn, an iconic performer and recently retired St. Louis Blues anthem singer, will provide the musical entertainment at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis' Summer Block Party.

Steve Woolf's legacy at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis will live on, thanks to a successful $1 million endowment campaign. The funds will support programming in The Rep's Emerson Studio Theatre, ensuring that the theatre will continue to produce cutting-edge work in its intimate, black box-style space. The Studio season will go by a new name: the Steve Woolf Studio Series.

It's time to take the field! Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati presents gripping Pulitzer Prize finalist The Wolves by Sara DeLappe. In this highly anticipated regional premiere drama, a high school girls' soccer team fights tooth and nail for a chance at the championship-and for their futures. Infused with the raw, jagged energy of youth, The Wolves offers a refreshingly complex and powerful reflection on society, sex, and soccer. Playing June 1-29, 2019. Directed by D. Lynn Meyers.

Arcola Theatre today announces the European premiere of Until The Flood, written and performed by Pulitzer Prize nominee Dael Orlandersmith. The production, directed by Neel Keller, will be the first by Arcola Theatre at the Edinburgh Festival. It opens at the Traverse Theatre on 2 August, with previews from 1 August, and runs until 24 August. It then transfers to Arcola Theatre, London, opening on 6 September, with previews from 4 September and running until 28 September.

Acclaimed Broadway performer Corey Cott and rising star Mikaela Bennett will headline Lyric Opera of Chicago's premiere of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's groundbreaking American musical West Side Story, presented from May 3 - June 2, 2019 at the Lyric Opera House, 20 N. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis made a tremendous sales splash with its 2018-2019 season, sending retiring artistic director Steven Woolf out on a high note with more than $1.5 million in single ticket sales. That number includes ticket sales from the theatre's six Mainstage and three Studio productions. This is the third straight season in which The Rep has topped the $1 million mark in single ticket sales. 

Dael Orlandersmith's solo play UNTIL THE FLOOD, in which the Ferguson community processes the shooting, is just as vital now as it was when it was first commissioned by the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.

A co-presentation with Mount Tremper Arts, the final installment of Yamazaki's Darkness Odyssey series, is a non-operatic dance celebrating the bridge between 'this self' and 'the other self.' Bessie Award winning Yamazaki magnifies the ever-changing state and process of 'becoming' while encouraging exchange between performers from different dance practices, and cultural backgrounds.

A full-scale calamity is about to ensue at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. The Play That Goes Wrong - a masterpiece of theatrical mass-destruction, has thrilled audiences on Broadway and London's West End. Now it makes its American regional theatre debut, as The Rep becomes the first U.S. theatre to self-produce the show outside of New York City.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) begins the second half of the 2018-19 season with Rupert Holmes' Tony Award-winning musical, "The Mystery of Edwin Drood." Paul Mullins will direct the interactive musical mystery. Performances will be held in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre February 28th - March 10th. Hartford Stage announced today the cast and creative team for Jeeves & Wooster in "Perfect Nonsense." The Olivier Award-winning comedy from brothers David and Robert Goodale will perform at Hartford Stage Thursday, March 21, through Saturday, April 20. Original director Sean Foley returns to stage the show, which is making its North American premiere at Hartford Stage. Three Broadway actors - Chandler Williams, Arnie Burton, and Eddie Korbich - star in the three-hander.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis will present the world premiere of Scott C. Sickles' Nonsense and Beauty, directed by Seth Gordon, running March 6 - 24 in The Rep's Emerson Studio Theatre.
