Good Mood Records will celebrate the vocalist and songwriter NORA YORK with a special tribute concert at Joe's Pub on on Monday, October 7 at 7:00 PM. The City University of New York (CUNY), the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), and The Rockefeller Foundation have announced the launch of the fourth year of the CUNY Cultural Corps, which places students in paid internship positions with New York City non-profit cultural institutions. The program exposes students to opportunities and future careers in the arts while expanding the cultural community's engagement with CUNY's diverse pool of talent. As of the current fiscal year, funding for the Cultural Corps has been made a permanent line item in DCLA's budget, providing long-term support for the program. The Rockefeller Foundation has also established an endowment-based fellowship to support several internships each year in perpetuity. 

The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents Our Country co-created by Becca Wolff and Annie Saunders, and directed by Becca Wolff with original writing by Saunders and devising by the company.  Our Country will be performed on Saturday, November 9 at 4pm and 8pm, and Sunday, November 10 at 2pm.

Transport Group has announced that the cast of its world premiere musical Broadbend, Arkansas will be Justin Cunningham (a?oeWhen They See Usa??) and Danyel Fulton. Broadbend, Arkansas, presented in association with the Public Theater, with libretto by Ellen Fitzhugh and Harrison David Rivers, and music and additional lyrics by Ted Shen, directed by OBIE-winning artistic director Jack Cummings III, begins performances Friday, October 25 at 7:30pm at at The Duke on 42nd Street in New 42nd Street Studios, 229 West 42nd Street. The opening is set for Sunday, November 10 at 7:30pm. Tickets are now on sale.

Voyage Theater Company is pleased to present the world premiere of THE HOPE HYPOTHESIS, a wickedly humorous take on the rabbit hole that is America's immigration system. Written and directed by Cat Miller, the play explores the current climate of suspicion and fear a?" and what it means to us as individuals and as a society. Adecade after revolutionizing the haunted house industry, BLACKOUT returns to New York City for a not-to-be-missed 10th Anniversary production. Hailed as pioneers of the immersive movement, original creators Josh Randalland Kristjan Thorwill bring the new production of the critically acclaimed interactive horror show to midtown NYC (342 W 37thStreet). Performances of BLACKOUT will take place Wednesday, October 2 through Monday, November 4, 2019. Tickets are now on sale.

DANCE NOW announces the lineup for the 2019 Festival ENCORE! The one-night-only performance will feature the 10 choreographers/companies selected by the DANCE NOW producers for having most successfully met the 2019 DANCE NOW Challenge: to create a clear and complete artistic statement in five minutes or less for the specifics of the stage at Joe's Pub. This year's Challenge winner is Nicole Vaughan-Diaz. As the Challenge winner, Vaughan-Diaz will receive a $1,500 stipend and a weeklong creative residency at DANCE NOW Silo on Kirkland Farm in Bucks County, PA. The ENCORE! program will be hosted by Deborah Lohse (aka TruDee).
