Theatrical Outfit will open the new year with the world premiere of BLEEDING HEARTS, a new work by Atlanta playwright Steve Yockey. The production will run at the Balzer Theater at Herren’s as part of the company’s “Made in Atlanta” new works program.
Atlantans have only just finished celebrating Easter and the recent papal placement of Leo XIV when a third gift has been bestowed upon saints and sinners alike - the new production of John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt: A Parable, directed by Freddie Ashley at Actor’s Express.
Actor’s Express will continue its 37th season with John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer and Tony-winning Doubt, A Parable, directed by Freddie Ashley. The production will have its previews on May 22nd and 23rd at 7:30 PM and opens May 24th at 8:00 PM.
Theatrical Outfit will present the final show of the 2023 – 2024 Season – Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (May 15 – June 9, 2024) live on stage at the Balzer Theater at Herren’s.
Theatrical Outfit was awarded a grant by Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA), a strategic arm of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, as part of its initial disbursement of grants for fiscal year 2023.
A Christmas Carol, Alliance Theatre's annual holiday production, returns for its 30th season, November 16 - December 24, 2019. After two seasons at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, the Alliance's production will return home to the newly renovated Coca-Cola Stage at Alliance Theatre on the campus of the Woodruff Arts Center.
Theatrical Outfit, located at the Balzer Theater at Herren's on Luckie Street in downtown Atlanta, continues its 2018-2019 Season of Beauty with the Atlanta premiere of The Pitmen Painters, British writer Lee Hall's (Billy Elliot) dramatization of William Feaver's book about a real-life group of English miners from the Geordie region who become unexpected stars of the high society art circles of London between the World Wars. Both comedic and stirring, The Pitmen Painters, directed by Adam Koplan (Artistic Director of Flying Carpet Theatre Company and director of The Outfit's 2018 hit Perfect Arrangement), features an all-Atlanta ensemble and runs February 27 - March 24, 2019.

Based on the characters of the Henrik Ibsen classic play, this follow-up story imagines what would happen if Nora Helmer returned home, 15 years after she slams the door on her husband and family. Audiences don't need to be familiar with the original story to enjoy this "Part 2," as playwright Lucas Hnath juxtaposes contemporary and classic sensibilities to create a thought-provoking and sharp-witted comedy.

Theatrical Outfit has received a grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Inc. in the amount of $150,000 over a two year period to support the general operations of the Organization. The downtown professional theatre received the exciting news on October 25th, and was presented with the check by James Tobias, Major Gifts Officer at the Community Foundation, on Thursday, November 16th. In attendance at the formal presentation were Theatrical Outfit Artistic Director Tom Key, TO Board Chair Stephanie Watkins, TO Trustees Tommy Barrow, Charlie Henn, and Margaret Murphy, TO Assoc. Artistic Director Clifton Guterman, and TO Director of Communications and Development Tess Malis Kincaid.

Georgia Shakespeare co-founder and Artistic Director Richard Garner is directing this love letter to William Shakespeare in his company's former home at Oglethorpe University's Conant Performing Arts Center while the Alliance Theatre undergoes a complete renovation.
