A twenty-year tradition unbroken by theater closures thanks to Zoom technology, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: The Radio Play, returns for live, in-person performance Thanksgiving weekend, November 26-27. This old favorite is popping up in a new location in Summit, NJ, at the Oakes Center Theater, 120 Morris Avenue, where The Theater Project will recreate the Lux Radio Theater circa 1947 as twelve adult actors, five kids, a musician and one extremely overworked sound technician prepare for the big radio broadcast of the story made famous in the Frank Capra film.
The Chatham Community Players kicks off its 101st Season with the hilarious “Inspecting Carol” by Daniel Sullivan and the Seattle Rep. The production will run from October 14 thru 23, 2022. Belle Wesel of New York City returns to the Chatham Playhouse to direct this play. Her previous work at this theater was her hilarious production of “The 39 Steps.”

The play is being presented online as part of the New Talent Showcase, a Theater Project initiative to provide opportunities for young actors during the Covid shutdown of performance spaces.

Based on a real event, the play concerns a college student with a severe stutter who has been asked by his professor not to speak in class but instead write his questions down. Because of the media coverage that ensues, the incident becomes a national news story, changing both their lives forever.

The NJ Premiere of Robin Hawdon's comedy hit, Perfect Wedding, opened Friday, November 13, at the Bickford Theatre, 6 Normandy Heights Road, in Morristown, NJ. Directed by Eric Hafen, Bickford Theatre's Artistic Director, Perfect Wedding will play the New Jersey venue at the Morris Museum through December 6.
