Eisemann Center Presents Broadway's master songman, Mandy Patinkin, accompanied by Adam Ben-David on piano, will bring his newest theatre concert Mandy Patinkin in Concert: DIARIES, to the Eisemann Center 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas for one performance only on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 7:30 pm in the Hill Performance Hall.

ALL ARTS, the broadcast and digital platform created earlier this year by New York Public Media company WNET, announced today the selection of its first Artist in Residence, veteran theater artist Taylor Mac. 

Presented by the Kennedy Center Taylor Mac tests out a new take on the holidays. Mac (who uses the gender pronoun 'judy'), is an actor, playwright, performance artist and many other things too. Judy was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2017 and is a Macarthur Fellow. Judy's play, 'Gary: a Sequel to Titus Andronicus' premiered earlier this year in April and received 7 Tony nominations. Judy puts on an over the top concert revue that ranges from songs we have known our whole lives as well as some new songs for audiences. It is a show that is somewhat targeted at how everyone in the country knows the traditions and rituals of the holiday season whether they celebrate the holidays or not. These are rituals that everyone has grown up in experiencing such as caroling, forced visits to relatives, Christmas trees, and sitting on Santa's lap. Mac deconstructs these rituals adding in humor and comments where he sees fit.

In January 2020, Joe's Pub presents its annual slate of showcases coinciding with APAP|NYC 2020, the yearly Association of Performing Artists Presenters conference drawing presenters from around the world, January 10-14. The month will also include the fifth installment of Under the Radar + Joe's Pub: In Concert, a collaborative series highlighting multidisciplinary artists at the intersection of music and theater during The Public Theater's innovative Under the Radar Festival, January 8-19.

West Side Story is officially in previews on Broadway! The new production is directed by Tony Award winner Ivo van Hove; and for the first time ever in the United States, will feature all-new choreography by the internationally acclaimed Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. West Side Story will begin previews on December 10, 2019 and open February 6th, 2020 at the Broadway Theatre.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) announced today performers, presenters and the host for the NYTW 2020 Gala, honoring NYTW Usual Suspect & Tony Award-winning director Rachel Chavkin (Hadestown, Light Shining in Buckinghamshire, Three Pianos at NYTW) and Tony Award-winning producer Jordan Roth (Producer of Hadestown; President of Jujamcyn Theaters). The Gala will be held on Monday, February 3 at Capitale (130 Bowery, New York, NY 10013).

Today's episode features not one, but two stars of the mega-hit Hadestown, Eva Noblezada and Amber Gray.

The Public Theater recently announced the full line-up today for the 16th annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 8-19, 2020. In honor of the centenary of the birth of La MaMa founder Ellen Stewart, the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club has announced a $1 million challenge grant by The Diamonstein-Spielvogel Foundation toward the restoration and renewal of La MaMa's original home at 74A East 4th Street.

Taylor Mac will perform the bedazzling, moving and politically stirring Holiday Sauce-the delightfully irreverent work exploring Christmas as calamity-in various locations across the country in December.
