Shakespeare goes Bollywood - Popo Gigi is an all-singing, all-dancing musical comedy masala mix of Shakespeare and Bollywood, which world premieres at the Ashcroft Theatre, Fairfield Halls, Croydon on 15 September 2009.

The Griot Museum of Black History (formerly known as The Blackworld History Museum) will host, ?Carnaval in July,? a free multicultural, family-focused community festival with food, music, dance, arts and crafts on Saturday, July 11, noon-6 p.m. at The Griot. The festival will feature percussionist David A.N. Jackson; African dance by Mama Lisa of Fundisha Enterprises, roots fusion/neo soul by Mario Pascal; Mexican dance by Kids Mex; stilt walkers from the Nan Foule Mask Society, Glenn ?Papa? Wright, Jr., puppetry and storytelling by Glenn ?Papa? Wright; interactive exhibits from the Magic House, face painting, mask making, food, merchant and information booths. The World Bird Sanctuary will bring a variety of birds, some that represent the countries featured in the exhibit. The festival is free; Griot admission is $5 for adults, $4 for youth 13-17 and $2.50 for children 12 and under.

In celebration of Summer, the folks at TWEED TheaterWorks have been hard at it coming up with another Fractured Classick for your entertainment. The TWEED Fractured Classicks Series presents original interpretations of great American plays and movies. This particular dinosaur emerged inthe early fifties and ran away with most of the season awards -including the Pulitzer!

COSTUME EXTRAVANGZA, a special one-night-only event offering drinks, divas, drag and dance presented by the Vineyard Theater on Thursday, May 21, beginning with a cocktail reception at 7:00pm, followed by a fashion show, silent auction of costumes from the hit musical WIG OUT! designed by Toni-Leslie James, and dance party featuring the stars of WIG OUT! at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) in Manhattan.

TWEED Theaterworks and God's Love We Deliver are excited to announce that Caroline Rhea, Robert La Fosse as Isadora Duncan, Frank DeCaro and Gina Vitro's Flopera! will be joining the already stellar line up at FOLLY: The Grand Street Follies 2009, being held at Abrons Arts Center on Friday February 27 and Saturday February 28.

TWEED TheaterWorks, in association with Robbi Kearns, will bring back the vaudeville Follies when such beloved artists as Rufus Wainwright, Lypsinka, Jackie Hoffman, Julie Halston, David Ilku, Brenda Bergman and Lady Bunny participate in 'FOLLY: The Grand Street Folles, 2009,' a fundraiser for God's Love We Deliver and TWEED Theaterworks on February 27 and 28, 2009 at 8pm at the Abrons Arts Center (466 Grand St.) in Manhattan. 'FOLLY: The Grand Street Follies, 2009', inspired by the follies of the 20's -- but billed as a 'Vaudeville for the New Depression' -- will be an 'old school' vaudeville show featuring live acts: comedy, intriguing skits, unusual musical numbers, spectacle extravaganzas and more than a few surprises.
