When I walked out of the theater after watching THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS, I had a big ol' smile on my face. I feel that all could enjoy this show since it has everything you could ever want in a production! It is truly special that this show, which has a future across the U.S. if not on Broadway someday, is premiering here in Houston, Texas.

This spring, Brendan Bourque-Sheil's story of a woman dealing with life's impossible changes is one of Houston's best plays. Set in the fictional town of Buxtop, Texas, the protagonist, Hallie (Susan Koozin), wakes up after an overdose and the resultant story is about how a person copes with almost impossible odds.
Based on the hit-film, Sister Act is a feel-good musical comedy that is bringing joy, song and laughter to the people of Houston. Sister Act tells the story of a nightclub singer (Deloris) who is forced to take refuge from the mob in a convent. The story brings brings audiences joy and laughter as Deloris turns the convent choir into a soulful chorus complete with a Motown repertoire. Patrons of Theatre Under the Stars are captivated as we watch Deloris maneuver through the the sudden celebrity of the choir jeopardizing her identity.
One of the things that drew me to Houston theatre as a young audience member was when I began to recognize the faces onstage. After spending some time in Houston, you start to recognize the same smiling, singing faces (and make a habit of looking forward to seeing their name appear in your program!) Rec Room Arts continues its fourth season with the Obie-Award winning play, Appropriate by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and directed by Julia Oppenheim Traber. This riveting Houston premiere begins previews March 26, with an official press opening on Saturday, March 28, followed by an opening reception at Rec Room's Bar. Performances will run through April 18.
