This Week's New Classified Listings on BroadwayWorld for 5/5/2022 include new jobs for those looking to work in the theatre industry.

Signature Theatre has extended the world premiere of Samuel D. Hunter’s A Case for the Existence of God, directed by David Cromer (Tony Award-winner, The Band’s Visit) to May 22. The production, which opened on May 2, is running on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W 42nd St).

Topical themes rule the day at the current production at Studio Theatre’s current production John Proctor is the Villain. This is a play that has good intentions to spare, fine acting, and superb production values but never quite gels as it tries to do too much at the same time.

The New Cosmopolitans led by Ryan Hartley, founding member & director, is making its Hollywood Fringe Festival debut with a workshop production of the new comedy 'Gummy Worm'. Written by New York playwright Nathaniel Foster, 'Gummy Worm' follows four high school juniors in over their heads when they sign up for their school's abstinence-only sex-ed class.

MAYTAG VIRGIN by Audrey Cefaly, now playing at Florida Repertory Theatre, is a sweet, southern romantic comedy focused on neighbors Jack and Lizzy. Jack moves into the house next to Lizzy's, she brings him a pie to welcome him, and from there they form a bond.

Sheffield Theatres today announces the cast for its trilogy of new plays, Rock / Paper / Scissors, by Chris Bush.

Florida Studio Theatre has announced the WRITE A PLAY Educator of the Year for the 2021-2022 academic year: Ricardo Robinson-Shinall. As the Fine Arts Department Chair at Braden River High School, Robinson-Shinall teaches theatre and dance and has been integral to the theatre program's expansion and excellent standing in the community.

From June 2 to 19, Theater for the New City will present the world premiere of 'A Healthy House' by Tom Diriwachter, directed by Jonathan Weber.  It's a wickedly funny play about a Staten Island family trying to preserve its run-down house and its memories without getting too scammed by the contractor. 

The themes addressed by “The Legend of Georgia McBride” sparkle in Florida Studio Theatre’s production, in a way both respectful of drag as an art form but also approachable, with characters that transporting them a glitter-filled odyssey though sexuality, gender expression, and family. The show runs through May 22.

The 2021-22 season of The Met: Live in HD will close with Brett Dean's Hamlet on Saturday, June 4 at 12:55 pm in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.

Donmar Warehouse Artistic Director Michael Longhurst and Executive Director Henny Finch today announce the full cast for the UK première of Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House, Part 2. Joining Noma Dumezweni as Nora are Patricia Allison (Emmy), Brían F. O'Byrne (Torvald), and June Watson (Anne Marie). James Macdonald's production, in a reconfigured Donmar in the round, opens on 16 June, with previews from 10 June, and runs until 6 August.

Bechdel Project has announced Jeanne Dorsey as the recipient of the inaugural Room of One's Own (ROO) Writer's Residency. During the residency, Ms. Dorsey will fully develop her new play 'The Kit: Made by Martha,' which was a 2021 Ensemble Studio Theatre/Sloan Commission.

The J's New Jewish Theatre will continue its 24th season in June with the romantic comedy, Dear Jack, Dear Louise from June 9 – 26, 2022. The show follows the tremendous success of the season's last show, Laughter on the 23rd floor.
