Rep Stage, the professional regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), presents Tennessee Williams’ classic play, “The Glass Menagerie,” April 28 through May 15, 2022. Directed by Rep Stage’s Producing Artistic Director Joseph W. Ritsch, this exciting production explores how ghosts of the past continue to haunt.

Florida Repertory Theatre's 2021-2022 Season concludes with the humorous and heartwarming romantic comedy, “Maytag Virgin” by Audrey Cefaly. The new play is a romance that follows a year with Lizzy Nash and Jack Key, two Alabama schoolteachers who thought love had passed them by, and plays in the ArtStage Studio Theatre from April 15 to May 22. The run includes four nearly sold-out previews from April 12 – 14.

Theater J and Mosaic Theater, both located in Washington, DC, are collaborating to produce an evening of short Ukrainian plays benefiting Ukrainian charities. The in-person event, consisting of readings of short contemporary plays, will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 8:00 pm at the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center (1529 16th Street NW, Washington DC). The evening will raise funds for Ukrainian causes and highlight the plight of artists in Ukraine while showcasing the plays. Some of these plays were commissioned, written, and translated just in the last few weeks, and are based on what the playwrights are currently experiencing in their war-torn country.

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble (BTE), the professional Equity company in residence at the McAninch Arts Center (MAC), wraps up the 2021-2022 Season with “Naperville,” written by Mat Smart and directed by BTE Member Kurt Naebig. New York Theatre Review calls it a “valentine to the heart and soul of the American suburbs.” There will be a Preview performance 8 p.m., Thursday, April 28. Press opening is 8 p.m., Friday, April 29. Performances run through May 29.  

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre has announced full casting and production details for THE ISLAND by Athol Fugard, John Kani, and Winston Ntshona, directed by Mikael Burke. THE ISLAND opens Saturday, April 9th at 8pm.

HartBeat Ensemble announced today the world premiere production of Saviana Stanescu's Bee Trapped Inside The Window. Set in a wealthy suburb in Connecticut, this intimate drama focuses on the interwoven stories of a Russian émigré, her biracial daughter, and an Asian-American cleaning woman who has been trafficked into domestic service.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the critically acclaimed play Dana H. written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters will run Friday, June 3–Sunday, July 10, 2022.

TheatreC & Rhyme Combinator announced today the complete cast for CO-FOUNDERS, a new hip hop musical about the two most unlikely partners in Silicon Valley, that will have a one-night-only concert on Saturday, April 9th at 7:00pm at Joe’s Pub (425 Lafayette Street).

TFANA will present Alice Childress’s Wedding Band. Director Awoye Timpo’s new staging, running April 23–May 15, brings Childress’s masterpiece to New York audiences for the first time since 1972, when it made its New York premiere in a production directed by Childress and Joseph Papp.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced its upcoming production of Epiphany, a new play by Brian Watkins, directed by Tyne Rafaeli.  Epiphany will begin previews Thursday, May 19 and open on Thursday, June 16 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).
