As BroadwayWorld previously reported, while Channing Tatum's Magic Mike Live has already taken over Las Vegas and London, a musicalized version of the show is taking more steps towards Broadway. The musical, from creative team Tom Kitt, Brian Yorkey and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, recently wrapped a workshop in LA.
When Magic Mike Live in London first went on sale in June, most of the shows for the first six months of the run at the Theatre at the Hippodrome Casino sold out within five days and in September Channing Tatum and his co-producers released an extra 10,000 tickets, including for some extra shows in January. It has now been decided that at 1.00pm each Monday, beginning Monday 5 November 2018, Magic Mike Live will release a certain amount of tickets that have been held for producers and creatives. People will be able to purchase these tickets either in person at the theatre's new box office on Cranbourn Street or online from www.magicmikelondon.co.uk.
Two-time Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winning actor Cate Blanchett has signed on to star in Mrs. America, a new limited series ordered by FX and created and written by Emmy Award winning writer Dahvi Waller (Mad Men) and Executive Produced by two-time Academy Award nominee Stacey Sher, Waller, Coco Francini and Blanchett, it was announced today by John Landgraf, CEO, FX Networks and FX Productions. Production of the nine-episode limited series is scheduled for 2019 and it is produced by FX Productions with Waller serving as Showrunner.

Audiences will have a chance to experience both lesser known classic plays and new works when Bucks County Playhouse launches its Play Discovery Series with a reading of 'The Outgoing Tide' by Philadelphia playwright Bruce Graham on November 14 at 7:30 p.m. Directed by four-time Oscar nominee, Marsha Mason, 'The Outgoing Tide' is the first of several plays that will be part of the series for which Mason also serves as curator. This release includes tickets for every single performance currently on sale and 20 additional performances added to the month of January. This will be the final opportunity to purchase tickets for many of these early performances. In addition, a limited number of seats for the show's official opening on 28 November 2018 are being released so that fans of the show have the opportunity to be a part of that once-in-a-lifetime event. The Film Arcade today announced it has secured the US rights to the hilarious heart-warming comedy, FAMILY, written and directed by Laura Steinel. The film premiered at SXSW 2018 and stars Taylor Schilling ( Netflix's “Orange is the New Black”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”), Jessie Ennis (LIFE OF THE PARTY) and newcomer Bryn Vale. Additional cast includes Matt Walsh (HBO's “Veep”), Allison Tolman (“Fargo”) and Eric Edelstein (JURASSIC WORLD). FAMILY is set to be released theatrically by The Film Arcade in Spring 2019.

Filmmaker Megan Griffiths announced today that she and producers Lacey Leavitt and Jennessa West will independently release her acclaimed drama Sadie. Working with creative distribution strategist Mia Bruno, the film will begin its roll-out in New York and Los Angeles on October 12th. Winner of the Gryphon Jury Award at the 2018 Giffoni Film Festival in Italy, SADIE premiered at SXSW in March and features a breakout turn by newcomer Sophia Mitri Schloss in the title role. Melanie Lynskey, John Gallagher Jr., Tony Hale, Danielle Books and Keith L. Williams co-star, and the film features a score by Pearl Jam's Mike McCready.

Julia Garner ('Ozark') and Juno Temple ('Vinyl,' 'Wonder Wheel,' 'Black Mass') have joined the cast of Bravo Media's 'Dirty John' as the daughters of Debra Newell (Connie Britton), who are both skeptical about their mother's relationship with John Meehan (Eric Bana). Joining the previously announced Jean Smart who will play Debra's mother Arlane, Garner will star as Terra Newell, while Temple will star as Veronica Newell.
