Netflix Acquires Global Rights to HIGH FLYING BIRD Starring André Holland, Zazie Beetz, and Zachary Quinto

Netflix acquires the global rights to Academy Award Winner Steven Soderbergh's HIGH FLYING BIRD.
The film stars André Holland, Zazie Beetz, Melvin Gregg, Sonja Sohn, Zachary Quinto, Kyle MacLachlan, and Bill Duke. The film follows a sports agent during a pro basketball lockout, who pitches a rookie basketball client on an intriguing and controversial business proposition.
"We had several strong options for distributing HIGH FLYING BIRD, but to borrow the patois of the movie itself, this deal felt like a slam dunk and the perfect way for me to begin my relationship with Netflix as a director," said Director Soderbergh.
The film is written by Academy Award Winner Tarell Alvin McCraney and produced by Joseph Malloch.
Netflix will release the film globally in 2019.
