Houston Symphony Salutes NASA In Annual Patriotic Program

The Houston Symphony closes out the ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights with an Independence Day celebration at Miller Outdoor Theatre: Star-Spangled Salute, a Houston tradition of more than 75 years. Houstonians can enjoy patriotic tunes, a celebration of the Apollo 11 space mission, and an incredible firework display in a free and family-friendly setting at 8:30 p.m. on July 4.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts's unprecedented new expansion. At a preview event today, May 29, which marks both President Kennedy's 102nd birthday and 100 days until the historic opening, the Kennedy Center unveiled preliminary details of the free 16-day REACH Opening Festival on September 7-22.

Broadway Favorites Leslie Odom Jr., Megan Hilty, and Cheyenne Jackson to Perform with National Symphony Orchestra

The Kennedy Center has announced its 2019-2020 season for the National Symphony Orchestra Pops. Tony Award winner and original Hamilton cast member Leslie Odom Jr. will lead NSO's annual Holiday Pops! concert from December 13-14. Two more Broadway favorites, Tony nominee Megan Hilty (Wicked, 9 to 5, Smash) and Cheyenne Jackson (Xanadu, Aida, American Horror Story) will join forces to perform a series of concerts over Valentine's Day weekend, featuring songs from Broadway, film, and the American Songbook.

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) concludes its 2018/19 season with musical fireworks as Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki plays Mendelssohn, Donald Runnicles conducts Carmina Burana, Steven Reineke leads Modern Broadway, and star Canadian violinists James Ehnes and Jonathan Crow display their astonishing virtuosity with works by Korngold and Sibelius. The New York Pops 36th Birthday Gala concert, Hat Full of Stars: The Songs of Cyndi Lauper, on Monday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, will feature twenty participants from the orchestra's Kids on Stage program. The Kids on Stage program provides middle school students access to the professional performance process through an audition process, comprehensive rehearsal period, and performance with the orchestra on the Carnegie Hall stage.
