The Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival (PSYPF) is proud to announce the acclaimed directors selected to helm the winning plays of its Ninth Annual Festival, taking place Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 12 PM at the Palm Springs Cultural Center.
For three nights only, May 14, 15 and 16, a Palm Springs warehouse will be transformed into an intimate stage for FEAR, an award-winning play by Matt Williams, presented as a special fundraising event benefiting the Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival (PSYPF).

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) announced today the winners of the 31st annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers Concert of Arias, which took place in the Cullen Theater of the Wortham Theater Center. This is the third year the Concert of Arias was streamed live on Facebook, and the second for livestreaming on YouTube. The livestream was hosted by HGO Studio alumna Andrea Carroll. She is currently performing in The Pearl Fishers as Le la and placed first in the 2012 Concert of Arias. The winners were announced during the second portion of the program.

Bay Street is pleased to announce that Ana R. Daniel has been named Chair Emeritus by the Bay Street Board of Trustees. She served two different terms, the first from 1991-2004, and the second from 2013-2015. She announced her retirement from the board at the end of 2017, and the board voted unanimously to create the role of Chair Emeritus in her honor.
Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill presented the 2017 Urban Stages' Lifetime Achievement Award to Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award-winning legendary set and costume designer Tony Walton. The celebrated Broadway, TV and film star, Melissa Errico, ("Billions", My Fair Lady, High Society, Encores' Do I Hear a Waltz?), presented the award to her mentor and close friend, Tony Waltonat the annual benefit at the Boathouse in Central Park.
