The Actors Center has announced the appointment of Alex Birnie as the organization's new executive director. Birnie most recently served as the Center's managing director and enters his first full season in his new role in September 2019.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. An agreement has just been reached between Rudinplay and the Harper Lee Estate regarding the new Aaron Sorkin penned stage adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. The play will go forward as scheduled, opening at Broadway's Shubert Theatre in December.
