The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced today their lineups for their annual Writers and Producers panel series.

For more than 20 years, The Actors Center has provided opportunities for NYC's professional stage, film, and television artists to deepen and develop their craft alongside likeminded peers. Now under the direction of longtime Center associate Charles Tuthill, the Center now boasts more than 200 peer-nominated members and is positioned to continue to impact the profession for generations to come.

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced today that Barry Jenkins, Damien Chazelle, Denis Villeneuve, and Kenneth Lonergan will receive the 2017 Outstanding Directors of the Year Award. They will each be celebrated individually for their films Moonlight, La La Land, Arrival, and Manchester by the Sea respectively.  The individual honors will be followed by a joint conversation between the directors on their craft and the landscape of modern day filmmaking.  The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, February 7th at the historic Arlington Theatre.

Denzel Washington has won the 2017 SAG AWARD for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for FENCES.

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced today that it will honor Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams with the Cinema Vanguard Award on Sunday, February 5, 2017.

Paramount Pictures, with the Curran theater and the San Francisco Film Society, will present the San Francisco Premiere of the film Fences, which has been adapted into a motion picture by the late August Wilson. The event, 30 years after the play first played at the Curran theater ahead of its Broadway premiere, will reopen the Curran following a just-completed, extensive renovation.   

August Wilson's MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM will be the next project that actor and director Denzel Washington will adapt for the screen. The play, which recently ran at theUK's National Theatre, will be part of Washington's previously announced plan to bring all 10 of the playwright's works to the screen over the next ten years.
