Antipodes Theatre Company Announces 2020 Season

Antipodes Theatre Company has announced its second year of programming in Melbourne, which features an Australian musical premiere as well as a Tony Award-winning play. Their 2020 Season will also include the continuation of programs focused on developing new work and supporting young artists.

Works by Benjamin Benne, Majkin Holmquist and More to be Featured in Roundabout Underground Reading Series

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has announced the ninth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Benjamin Benne, Majkin Holmquist, Shayan Lotfi, Nick Mecikalski and Harrison David Rivers.

Submissions Are Now Being Accepted For The Blank Theatre's 28th Annual Young Playwrights' Festival

The Blank Theatre in partnership with LA City College Theatre Academy is now seeking submissions nationwide from playwrights 19 years of age and younger for the 28th Annual Young Playwrights Festival. Submissions must be made online or postmarked by March 15, 2020. The winning plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in June of this year at LA City College's Caminito Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival is a nationwide competition that produces the work of 12 young writers each year. Since 1993, the festival has produced 332 plays by playwrights 19 and younger from 34 states.

Lana Gordon, Angel Reda and More to Star in DirectorFest's HELLO AGAIN

The Drama League presents DirectorFest,  the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing. Launching the 2020 series is the musical Hello Again, with Book, Music and Lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, Music Direction by Jesse Kissel, and Directed by 2019 Drama League Leo Shull Musical Directing Fellow Ben Randle.

San Diego Repertory Theatre Has Announced Events Schedule For THE HUMANS

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announced today the lineup of FREE REP Xtras Events surrounding the downtown theatre's production of The Humans, including a January 16th panel discussion on the state of the American Dream in San Diego, which will include San Diego's Unified School District Superintendent, Cindy Marten.

The Drama League Announces The Acting Company for DirectorFest 2020

The Drama League (Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Director Bevin Ross) announced today the acting company for the 36th annual DirectorFest, the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing. Directorfest will take place January 10 - February 4, 2020 at various locations around NYC: The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street), The Drama League Theater Center (32 Avenue of the Americas), LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (31-10 Thomson Avenue), and Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street). The Blank Theatre in Hollywood has announced it will partner with LA City College Theatre Academy to produce the 28th Annual Young Playwrights Festival (YPF) in June, 2020, and beyond. The partnership is a major milestone for The Blank and YPF and a huge part of the Festival's growth and expansion. The 90-year-old Theatre Academy has educated generations of artists, many of whom have gone on to great things. The Blank's Young Playwrights Festival is a nationwide competition that produces the work of 12 young writers each year. Since 1993, the Festival has produced 332 plays by playwrights 19 and younger from 34 states.

San Diego Repertory Theatre Announces Cast of THE HUMANS

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announced today the cast and creative team for The Humans, winner of the 2016 Tony Award for Best Play. The production, written by Stephen Karam and directed by REP Associate Artistic Director Todd Salovey, will run January 9 - February 2, 2020, in San Diego REP's Lyceum Space Theatre, with previews January 9 - 14 and press opening on Wednesday, January 15 at 7:00 p.m.

The Drama League Announces Lineup And Creative Team For DirectorFest 2020

The Drama League announced today the 2020 line-up of DirectorFest: The 36th Annual Directors Festival, the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing. For its 36th year, the festival will include six fully-staged productions, a showcase concert of a new musical, a town hall, and conversations with directors including 2017 Tony Award Winner Rebecca Taichman (Indecent), 2014 Tony Award Winner and 2010 Drama League Founders Award for Excellence in Directing Kenny Leon (A Soldier's Play), and Intimacy Director Claire Warden (HBO's Mrs. Fletcher).

San Jose Stage Company (Randall King, Artistic Director and Cathleen King, Executive Director) announced the cast and creative team for the second production of The Stage's 37th Season, Stephen Karam's THE HUMANS (2016 Tony Award®-winning a?oeBest Playa?? and 2016 Finalist - 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama). Westport Country Playhouse Presents a Playreading Of Comedy/Drama VISITING MR. GREEN

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the comedy/drama, a?oeVisiting Mr. Greena?? by Jeff Baron, on Monday, November 18, at 7 p.m. The cast includes Tim Jerome as Mr. Green and Charles Socarides as Ross Gardiner. The reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.
