Ida Mae have released a new video for their beautifully effortless track, 'Love Is Still A Long Road.' Directed by Tom Cowles, the video features footage of husband-and-wife duo Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean as they travel across the US on tour. Ida Mae writes that ''Love Is Still A Long Road' is in some ways about us. We've existed on the road together for so long with an almost Bonnie & Clyde lifestyle….travelling alone in the car in cities and countries we never expected to see. It is kind of about being bound to one another.” 

Ida Mae Releases Debut Album 'Chasing Lights'

Husband and wife duo Ida Mae (Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean), have released their debut record Chasing Lights. Produced by Ethan Johns and released via Thirty Tigers, Chasing Lights has earned significant acclaim from publications includingRolling Stone Country who dubbed Ida Mae one of '10 New Country and Americana Artists You Need to Know', and Billboard who calls the record '...the culmination of Turpin and Jeans' journey from the alt-rock band Kill It Kid into the country blues of Robert Johnson, Son House, Charley Patton, and others, a musical path that's proven fruitful in a very short time.' NPR's 'All Songs Considered' also featured the new record, noting that '...there's a fiery element to what they do.' 

Ida Mae Announce New Tour Dates with Greta Van Fleet

Husband and wife duo Ida Mae (Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean), have announced new U.S. tour dates opening for Greta Van Fleet this May. 'We were a little shocked when we were invited to play with them, but then it quickly made sense,' Turpin says. 'Their dad was in a blues band, plays harmonica. They grew up with Stax and Otis Redding, all the same blues things I did. A lot of their heroes are British rock 'n' roll bands, who during the 60s fell in love with blues coming out of Chicago. So it makes sense that Greta would be into us, and those shows really work out well.' Ida Mae are currently on the road with Blackberry Smoke on their Break It Down tour. Today they have also released a new video for their single 'Reaching', directed by Tim Hyland. The video is currently streaming via Billboard who describes it as 'an impressionistic pastiche featuring the two of them driving a friend's snazzy sports car... around the English countryside.' 'This was all filmed on the wilds of the Norfolk countryside,' the group writes about the video. Blackberry Smoke to Perform with Ida Mae at the State Theatre

Blackberry Smoke will perform a series of stripped down shows this spring as part of their “Break It Down Tour,” the band's first-ever acoustic tour. The tour, featuring Ida Mae, includes a stop in Easton at the State Theatre on Friday, April 5th.

Husband and wife duo Ida Mae (Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean), have released an enticing new video for their single 'If You Don't Love Me', directed by Tim Hyland and Luke Courtenay Smith with LNT productions. The video is currently streaming via Clash Magazine who writes, 'The duo cast a spell with their opaque Americana, with their folk-hewn, countrified harmonies, blending two voices as one.' Filmed in one take at a 17th century old shoe maker's mansion in the band's hometown of Norwich, the duo said of the video, “We wanted to capture a sense of late night / early morning, the quiet moment before the sun comes up with a hint of 'Exile on main street'!'

The Kitchen And Arts For Art Present IDENTITY: FREEDOM

New York-based free jazz organization Arts for Art collaborates with The Kitchen to present free jazz ensembles in a multidisciplinary program of improvisation over the course of three evenings, March 7-9, 2019, at The Kitchen. From jazz, dance, and poetry to political discourse, these concerts consist of musical and discursive interjections among participants, which segue into conversations that are inclusive of audiences. The events aim to foster and celebrate new interrelationships among participants and audiences as they revolve around our conceptions of social justice. Titled IDENTITY: FREEDOM, the project declares liberation in both self-possession and movement.

Husband and wife duo Ida Mae (Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean), have shared their new single 'If You Don't Love Me', produced by Ethan Johns and released via Thirty Tigers today. Starting off simply with Chris' sweet vocals accompanied on guitar, the song gradually builds into a crescendo of pure bliss. Stephanie's vocals beautifully weave over the top of Chris' falsetto resulting in a balanced, elegant sound. Ida Mae will be joining Blackberry Smoke on their Break It Down tour this spring. The tribute concerts take the music of well-known music icons and create new, unique arrangements and orchestrations by twisting the style to fit the strength of the performer. Previous seventeen concerts have included Adele, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna. On December, the Highline Ballroom series will continue with Broadway Sings John Legend.
