The 22nd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards” brought together Hollywood's elite to honor the year's most talked about, and highly anticipated, actors, actresses, films and those who help bring them to life.  The awards ceremony, celebrating its 22nd anniversary as the official launch of the awards season, was hosted by actress and comedian Awkwafina, and took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.  In its 22-year history, more than 320 of the world's biggest stars and filmmakers have been highlighted at the “Hollywood Film Awards” and more than 130 of the honorees have gone on to garner Oscar nominations and/or wins. 

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Judd Apatow, and More Set for 'Telethon for America' Get Out the Vote

Variety says Judd Apatow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lilly Singh and Olga Kay (among other stars) will participate in a get-out-the-vote streaming comedy special dubbed 'Telethon for America.' The stream will go out on the evening of November 5th, one day before the Midterm elections.

Netflix has secured the rights to international bestselling author Blake Crouch's book “Recursion” for Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beer's Shondaland and Matt Reeves' 6th & Idaho for a feature film as well as a television universe. “Recursion” will be published by Crown on June 11, 2019.

ION Media Acquires Broadcast Rights to CHICAGO P.D.

ION Media today announced a long-term content deal with NBCUniversal Television Distribution to bring the top-rated drama 'Chicago P.D.' to its flagship network, ION Television. From Dick Wolf's highly successful 'Chicago' franchise, the series is a top-10 drama on broadcast television in A25-54 and A18-49 and is the #1 series in its time period (Wed/10p) in all key demos this season.i The agreement gives ION seasons 1-5 (106 episodes) of 'Chicago P.D.,' which will make its network debut in early 2019, plus the option for future seasons.

According to Deadline, One Tree Hill alum Sophia Bush and Patriot star Michael Dormanhave been tapped as the leads in Hard Luck Love Song, an indie from Synthetic Pictures and Dime Box Entertainment based on the song “Just Like Old Times” by Todd Snider. Justin Corsbie is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Craig Ugoretz.
