LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS have just announced that Tony Award Nominee Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, American Son) will finally be able to take the stage as Seymour, alongside original cast members Emmy Award winner Tammy Blanchard (Life with Judy Garland, Gypsy) as Audrey and two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle (Something Rotten!, Falsettos) as Orin Scrivello, D.D.S..
Producers of the Off-Broadway production of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s landmark musical LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS have announced that the 2020 Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama Desk Award-winning Best Musical Revival will reopen on Tuesday, September 21 at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street).
The Outer Critics Circle (OCC), the official organization of writers on New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers and national publications, today announced its plans for honoring the 2019-2020 season of Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
Mario Cantone will host this year's Lucille Lortel Awards, which are being presented as a virtual broadcast and benefit for The Actors Fund on Sunday, May 3, at 7pm. The online event will bring together theatre performers, industry veterans, and fans worldwide in a celebration of Off-Broadway.
Nominations for the 35th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were announced today by theatre veterans Jeremy Jordan and Ashley Spencer. The Awards will be presented during a special online event on Sunday, May 3, broadcast on the official website - www.LortelAwards.org - beginning at 7:00pm ET. A virtual 'host' and presenters will be announced at a later date. The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. BroadwayWorld has learned that Michelle Williams has been advised by her doctors to take a leave of absence from performing. Lea Salonga, who originated the role in this production will play Erzulie from December 27 through its final performance on January 6.
Anastasia will welcome new cast members to the Broadhurst Theatre this winter. Beginning Tuesday, December 18, original company member Constantine Germanacos will rejoin the hit Broadway musical as "Gleb." Emmy Award Winner Penny Fuller will assume the role of the "Dowager Empress" the week of January 7.
