The Playwrights Realm (Katherine Kovner, Founding Artistic Director; Roberta Pereira, Producing Director) today announces the complete cast and creative team for the world premiere of Jonathan Payne's The Revolving Cycles Truly and Steadily Roll'd, directed by Awoye Timpo (Sept. 7-Oct. 6, at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project).  This world premiere marks the first full production from the mordantly funny and unsparing voice of Jonathan Payne.

While some of the most cherished Disney musicals (from Beauty and the Beast to The Little Mermaid) made a splash on the big screen before arriving on Broadway, others have forged their own paths into the hearts of audiences. Tonight, August 10 (8:00-9:45 p.m., EDT/PDT), Disney Theatrical Productions will celebrate its first stage-to-television collaboration with the Disney Channel in adapting its original stage musical Freaky Friday for a worldwide televised premiere.

On this day, we're celebrating the birthday of Broadway favorite, Wesley Taylor!

Disney Channel's musical film adaptation of Freaky Friday officially aired on Friday, August 10. The musical featured an original score written by Broadway veterans Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal, If/Then). The pair penned nine original songs for the musical and you can watch the cast, including Heidi Blickenstaff and Cozi Zuehlsdorff, sing six of them in the clips from the film below!

ENTANGLEMENT tells the story of woman and a man who 'meet' on Facebook in this contemporary take on online relationships. These two people, although they live on opposite sides of the world, discover they are separated and linked by their relationships with fathers, lovers and lies. The entire play is read from laptops.

Natascia Diaz, Claybourne Elder and Steffanie Leigh are set to star in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical Passion. This new production will be directed by Signature Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner.Passion runs August 14 - September 23, 2018 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre.

In honor of Artistic Director Michael Kahn's final season with the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), the opening show of the 2018-2019 Season, William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, will feature beloved performers, many of whom have been with the Company since the very beginning.

Golden Globe Award-winner Michael C. Hall ('Dexter,' 'Six Feet Under,' The Realistic Joneses) will play the title role of Thom Pain in the Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Harold Wolpert, Executive Director; James Houghton, Founder) production of Thom Pain (based on nothing), by Drama Desk Award-winning playwright Will Eno and directed by Obie Award-winner Oliver Butler. Eno was the first writer to complete Signature's Residency 5, a unique program offering three full productions over the course of five years. This is his first Legacy production since completing the program, which included productions of his play Title and Deed, and the world premieres of The Open House and Wakey, Wakey.

The Alley Theatre and Interim Artistic Director James Black announce the cast and crew of the 2018-19 Neuhaus Season opener, Skeleton Crew by Dominique Morisseau, directed by Taibi Magar. Skeleton Crew is the story of four factory workers at the last automobile stamping plant in Detroit and their struggle to survive as the industry and their way of life is dramatically changed. The Bushwick Starr is thrilled to kick off our 10th Anniversary Season with Raja Feather Kelly's UGLY, a new piece created by award-winning choreographer and performer, Raja Feather Kelly, who's most recent work includes The House That Will Not Stand directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz (New York Theatre Workshop), A Strange Loop directed by Michael R. Thrown Stone Theatre Company under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors Jason Peck & Jonathan Winn announces casting for their 2018 Summer Repertory season, the New England Premiere of The Arsonists by Jacqueline Goldfinger and the East Coast Premiere of Where All Good Rabbits Go by Karina Cochran.

Today's subject, John Leslie Wolfe, has been living his theater life to the fullest for many years now. His credits include Broadway, national tours, television, and film. Local theatergoers might remember him from his performances at Signature Theatre in Titanic, The Threepenny Opera, and West Side Story or in 1776 or Ragtime at Ford's Theatre. Currently, John is back at Signature Theatre in rehearsal for the Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine musical Passion directed by Signature Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner. Performances begin on August 14th in Signature's MAX Theatre space. The production runs through September 23rd.

Casting of Goodspeed Musicals' Cyrano is complete. Film and TV actor Blake Jenner will play Christian. He joins previously announced Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage, who will play Cyrano alongside film actress Haley Bennett as Roxanne in this bold new musical.

I do not believe I have ever seen a more 'kid-friendly' theatrical event than the Olney Theatre Company's H.M.S. PINAFORE. Olney has welcomed back 'The Hypocrites' Chicago based troupe (they last appeared during the summer of 2016) who have taken their productions of both PINAFORE and PIRATES OF PENZANCE previously to the Pasadena Playhouse, and the Skirball Center in New York. 'The Hypocrites', founded in 1997 by Artistic Director Sean Graney have taken their repertories all over the country. 'The House Theatre of Chicago' has become the fiscal agent of 'The Hypocrites' and now serves as a co-producer.

Ensemble for the Romantic Century (Eve Wolf, Executive Artistic Director) is proud to announce that the 2018-'19 season, ERC's 18th, will begin September 15th with Because I Could Not Stop: An Encounter with Emily Dickinson. Opening Night is set for September 27th. This limited Off-Broadway engagement runs through October 21st only. Performances will be in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between Dyer and 10th Avenues).
