BWW Interview: Theatre Life with Joshua Morgan

You might know today's subject Joshua Morgan from his many performances in and around the DC area. He has worked at such prestigious local theatres as Arena Stage, Theater J, Folger Theatre, and Rep Stage. He also ran a wonderful theatre company called No Rules Theatre Company for years.

Bay Street Theater's EVITA Now In Rehearsal

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that rehearsals have begun for EVITA, a revival of the revolutionary musical with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber; directed by Will Pomerantz; and choreographed by Marcos Santana. CONFESSIONS OF A MORMON BOY Now In Rehearsal at Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that Confessions of a Mormon Boy, a special Mainstage Season bonus production, is now in rehearsal. Confessions of a Mormon Boy is written and performed by Outer Critics Circle Award Nominee Steven Fales and directed by Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director, Scott Schwartz. The one-man play will have five showings only from July 17 - July 22 and is Part 1 in Fales' new Mormon Boy Trilogy. Performances will be held on Tuesday, July 17 at 7 pm; Thursday, July 19 at 5 pm for a special Twilight Performance; Friday, July 20 at 8 pm; Saturday, July 21 at 5 pm for a second Twilight Performance; and Sunday, July 22 at 2 pm. Cast Announced For CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF At Drury Lane, Opens Today

Drury Lane Theatre announces casting for its sultry summer drama, Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, directed by Tony nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge (2009 Broadway revival of Ragtime, Drury Lane's Smokey Joe's Cafe). Cat on a Hot Tin Roof runs July 5 - August 26, 2018, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The press opening is scheduled for Today, July 12 at 8:00 p.m.

Original LGBTQ Musical SONATA 1962 To Star Five-Time NYMF Favorite Erin Leigh Peck

Award-winning playwright Patricia Loughrey and composer Thomas Hodges announce that five-time NYMF alum Erin Leigh Peck (Motherfreakinghood, Grease! on Broadway) will step into the lead role of Margaret Evans in their original LGBTQ musical Sonata 1962.The production, which will make its Off-Broadway debut this August as part of the 2018 New York Musical Festival's Next Link Project, was originally slated to star Becca Ayers who has had to step out of the show due to booking a Broadway contract.

Soho Rep. Adds Second Extension to Jackie Sibblies Drury's FAIRVIEW

In response to overwhelming demand, Soho Rep. (Sarah Benson, Artistic Director; Cynthia Flowers, Executive Director) extends the world premiere of Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview, directed by Sarah Benson, a second time, through August 12. Beginning July 10, OBIE-winning performer and Elevator Repair Service company member April Matthis (Everyone's Fine with Virginia Woolf, Iowa at Playwrights Horizons) will replace Roslyn Ruff. Performances in this second extension, July 24 - August 12, are made possible by a generous grant from the Ford Foundation.

Synetic's OZ Has Been Moved To Georgetown

Synetic's OZ has moved to a new location: Devine Theater At Georgetown University July 11 Through August 12. The location is changing because the performance space at Synetic Theater (1800 S. Bell St.) is temporarily unavailable due to excessive water damage from a sprinkler system/pipe malfunction. The resulting damage has forced the team to move its upcoming production of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz to the Devine Theater located in the Davis Performing Arts Center on the Georgetown University campus.

New Musical Theatre Podcast Releases Pilot Episode

The Micro-Musical Theatre Show's new production of the micro-musical TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET featuring Earphones Award winner, and audiobook narrator Sarah Naughton, and Golden Key Composition Competition winner Jake Weinstein. TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET  is performed by Sarah Naughton (Book and Lyrics)  and Jake Weinstein (Music and Lyrics). Also performing on the recording Jake Weinstein on piano,  is Will Melones on bass guitar and Tristan Marzeski on drums and drums and percussion.

National Alliance For Musical Theatre Announces Line-up For The Festival Of New Musicals
