Bristol Old Vic today announced the full cast for its major autumn production - Cyrano - directed by Tom Morris, in what amounts to a Bristol All-Stars line-up of the theatre's most charismatic actors from some of the best-loved productions of recent years, with six of the seven living in the South West.
Colin Salmon, star of the James Bond film series, Netflix's Master of None and Syfy's Krypton, has been confirmed to join the cast of the Howard Zinn biopic, The Time Of Our Lies. Guest starring for one night on 2 August, Colin will play the lead role as the American historian, author and social activist, Howard Zinn. Daniel Benzali will star as Howard Zinn for the remainder of the run. With Trang Le and Jessye Romeo also joining the ensemble, The Time Of Our Lies is written by Bianca Bagatourian and directed by Che Walker, with movement by Maureen Fleming.
Royal & Derngate and English Touring Theatre today announce the full cast for Nancy Medina's production of August Wilson's Two Trains Running. Medina directs Geoff Aymer (West), Ray Emmet Brown (Wolf), Derek Ezenagu (Hambone), Andrew French (Memphis), Leon Herbert (Holloway), Michael Salami (Sterling) and Anita-Joy Uwajeh (Risa). The production opens at Royal & Derngate Northampton on 4 September, with previews from 31 August and runs until 14 September before embarking on a UK tour to Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Oxford Playhouse, Cast Doncaster, New Wolsey Theatre, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and Derby Theatre.
Box of Tricks have announced full casting for the premiere of Daniel Kanaber's (Shiver, Watford Palace Theatre) new play Under Three Moons which will start its Autumn tour at The Lowry, Salford in late September.
Casting has today been announced for Touching The Void. Following critically acclaimed runs at the Bristol Old Vic, Royal & Derngate, Northampton, Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, Hong Kong Festival and on Tour in the UK Tom Morris' production of Touching the Void will see original cast members Fiona Hampton, Patrick McNamee and Josh Williams return to the show, joined by Angus Yellowlees. The show will open in the West End at the Duke of York's Theatre previewing from November 9th for a strictly limited season with an opening night of November 14th.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced the 201920 Sam Wanamaker Playhouse Season. Centred around She Wolves and Shrews, the season is a celebration and interrogation of women, power, and the role of the feminine in shaping our past, present and future. The candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse will play host to a world-premiere of Ella Hickson's new play Swive [Elizabeth], Shakespeare's Henry VI, Richard III, and The Taming of the Shrew, and Middleton's Women Beware Women. Sandi and Jenifer Toksvig have written a new family show dubbed, Christmas at the (Snow) Globe, and a series of candlelit ghost tales will include a new story from Jeanette Winterson. Other events running throughout the season include half-term storytelling festival, Half Term Tales at the Globe, with the new Children's Laureate Cressida Cowell, and a double bill of Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own and Three Guineas, marking the centenary year since the removal of the sex disqualification act. The Globe's flagship project for secondary and post-16 students, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank, reaches its 14th year with Macbeth.
Hackney Showroom today announces the world premiere of for all the women who thought they were Mad by Zawe Ashton which will open at Stoke Newington Town Hall - marking a new partnership with the London Borough of Hackney to bring theatre to Stoke Newington Town Hall. Directed by Jo McInnes it opens on 17 October, with previews from 14 October, and runs until 9 November.
Amelie The Musical, based on the much-loved, five-time Oscar-nominated film, will transfer to the West End this Christmas following its current UK tour, and its sell-out season premiere at the Watermill in Newbury in April.
The Original Theatre Company and York Theatre Royal present, from the international number one best-selling author Sarah Waters, THE NIGHT WATCH, adapted by Hattie Naylor (Ivan And The Dogs, Going Dark, As the Crow Flies and Bluebeard). Boundless Theatre and Boom Shakalaka Productions today announce the full cast for new musical Parakeet welcoming Lula Mebrahtu, Isabel Oliver and Michelle Tiwo to the production. Parakeet will also star the show's creators Brigitte Aphrodite and Quiet Boy. Camp Rock star Meaghan Martin is set to make her professional stage debut in Tony Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang's dark comedy The Actor's Nightmare. The piece, especially curated from a selection of Durang's shorts by 3 hearts canvas into a cohesive, stand-alone piece, explores different areas of the entertainment industry through biting satire and surreal comedy. The production runs from 16th July - 10th August 2019, with the official press night being held on Friday 19th July at 7pm.
Gloucester Stage Company continues its 40th Anniversary Season of professional theater with Patrick Barlow's witty mystery play The 39 Steps from July 5 through July 28 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Queens-based Rude Grooms announced today initial details for the company's second annual free summer production touring parks and art spaces in Astoria and Long Island City: William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, led by actor-manager Montgomery Sutton (Twelfth Night at Shakespeare's Globe) and produced in partnership with Long Island City Artists at the Plaxall Gallery and the Astoria Park Alliance and is made possible (in part) by the Queens Council on the Arts with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
New production company Last Minute Musicals are pleased to announce the cast for their one night only performance of Jonathan Larson's RENT as part of the Shaw Theatre's Pride celebrations. The performance will be in aid of Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK's leading HIVAIDS and Sexual Health charity.
