A Newer World, an original musical based on the Harvard Scandal of 1920, with a book by Grammy Award nominee Jonathan Sheffer, and score by Sheffer and acclaimed producer and songwriter Bruce Roberts [Barbra Streisand/Donna Summer duet 'No More Tears (Enough is Enough)'], will have an invitation-only reading on Thursday, December 6 at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue. Casting has been announced and a complete schedule is set for SUMMERWORKS 2014 - the annual season of new plays presented by the four-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb -- it has been announced by Maria Striar, Clubbed Thumb's Producing Artistic Director. SUMMERWORKS 2014 will be presented May 30 to July 5 at The Wild Project (195 E. 3rd St.) in Manhattan. Single tickets are now on sale for $18, students tickets are $15 and festival passes are $45. Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of THE MADRID, the new play by Liz Flahive, directed by two-time Obie Award winner Leigh Silverman, has been extended again at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). Tickets for the limited engagement are now on sale through Sunday, May 5. This will mark the last possible extension for the production which had previously been extended through Sunday, April 21.
