The first Broadway theatre reopened its doors yesterday for a special performance as part of NY PopsUp. The St. James Theater welcomed Nathan Lane and Savion Glover who performed for a group of staff members from The Actors Fund and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. 

Join Savion and NJPAC President and CEO John Schreiber for a conversation that will trace the history of tap through historical performances by the likes of Jimmy Slyde, George Hillman, Lon Chaney, Gregory Hines, Sammy Davis and Fred Astaire, examining their artistry and more.

Emmy-winning stage and screen star Dulé Hill will join Tony-nominee Saycon Sengbloh, Elisha Williams and Laura Kariuki on the upcoming reboot of The Wonder Years.

Today Jacob’s Pillow has announced plans to host a multi-platform virtual and on-site Festival in 2021, undertake substantial renovations to the Ted Shawn Theatre, and complete Vision ’22, a five-year strategic plan established in 2017.

NY PopsUp has announced the lineup for its next performance, taking place this Saturday, February 27. This weekend's performance will feature a 'musical collaboration' between Gavin Creel, Shoshana Bean, Ximone Rose, Nadia Digiallonardo, Meg Toohey, and Marq Walls.

The inaugural NY PopsUp performance took place on Saturday, February 20, at 12:30 for staff at the Javits Center.  The event was a NYC Love Riot led by Jon Batiste, featuring Ayodele Casel and Anthony Roth Costanzo in Manhattan and Brooklyn. 

NY PopsUp is an expansive festival consisting of hundreds of pop-up performances that will regularly permeate the daily lives of New Yorkers. It is intended to revitalize the spirit and emotional well-being of New York citizens through the energy of live performance.

M.A.D.D. Rhythms, Chicago’s premier tap collective, has announced new video content created by principal dancers Star Dixon, Donnetta Jackson and KJ Sheldon celebrating and commemorating Black History and Women’s History months. The videos will premiere in February and March on M.A.D.D. Rhythms’ YouTube channel.

NY PopsUp, an unprecedented and expansive festival featuring hundreds of pop-up performances (many of which are free of charge and all open to the public) that will intersect with the daily lives of New Yorkers, has been announced by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. This series of events, intended to revitalize the spirit and emotional well-being of New York citizens with the energy of live performance while jumpstarting New York’s struggling live entertainment sector, is a private / public partnership overseen by producers Scott Rudin and Jane Rosenthal, in coordination with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and Empire State Development (ESD). 

The Mac-Haydn Theatre will present 'BK From The UK,' a six-week virtual dance class with choreographer Bryan Knowlton, beginning March 6, 2021 as part of the Mac-Haydn Artist Workshop Series. Classes will be hosted weekly on Saturdays at 10:15 a.m. ET via Zoom. The cost for the full program is $90.
