Son of Semele Ensemble announces its upcoming production of 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane, to be produced on the twentieth anniversary of the playwright's suicide. Presented at Son of Semele Theater from October 12 - November 3, 2019, this production will feature the harrowing journey of a small ensemble cast through one woman's troubled mind. 

The west coast premiere of Jen Silverman's WITCH will launch the Geffen Playhouse's 2019/2020 season, having begun previews August 20, 2019. Theater visionary, artist, founding artistic director of Dallas's Undermain Theatre and Texas Woman of distinction Katherine Owens has died after a five-month prolonged illness. She was 61 and lived in Dallas with her husband and artistic partner Bruce DuBose. 

Then the government, represented by its functionary Lucius (Michael Rogers), brings in Shimeus (Wade McCollum), a derelict of another sort, whimpering and traumatized by an arson that killed everyone else in his family. Lucius orders the Browns to harbor Shimeus as a guest. Almost immediately, however, Shimeus stops whimpering, and, more importantly, stops behaving like a guest, and more like an invader - well maybe not a declared invader but a lot like a space alien whose intentions toward neighbors aren't entirely clear but don't seem encouraging, a la the plant in Little Shop of Horrors.
