BWW Review: PUFFS at BIRMINGHAM FESTIVAL THEATRE Conjurers Laughs, Wow, and Fun Satire About a Certain Boy Wizard

'Puffs' at Birmingham Festival Theatre is a comedy that takes great liberties with the hit stories of a certain popular young wizard. An enchanted cast that is fearlessly rambunctious electrifies 'Puffs'. Director Kelsey Crawford's magic gets you under the spell of the show right from the jump. If you are a Harry Potter fan, 'Puffs' is a must see performance. Written by Matt Cox 'Puffs' focuses on this less notable house at the big school for wizards. It's not the house of the brave ones, the smart ones or the snakey ones. This is house of Puff! Home to the outcasts, weirdos, and lesser-known children at the Wizarding School who never get a second glance. They are gleeful to fail, and are never a threat. With Puffs, it's third or nothing!

BWW Review: WONDERLAND WIVES Breaks The Crystal Slipper With Raunchy Laughter at THEATRE DOWNTOWN

Walt Disney would turn over in his grave if he saw 'Wonderland Wives' at Theatre Downtown. That's the point. It is supposed to break apart the crystal slipper. This is a in your face comedy poking fun at the idea of perfect princesses in the family friendly genre. This is a fairy tale full of raunchy characters with very real issues. 'Wonderland Wives' is a comical and bawdy tale of what happens after the final words in the storybook saying 'And they lived happily ever after'. It's saturated with puns, one-liners, and language that would make any magic carpet blush. These Disney princesses act more like very-desperate housewives instead of storybook icons. Buddy Thomas's writing cleverly balances an uncomfortable comedy found in these iconic storybook characters dropping shock value vocabulary. It's definitely not for children. It's bawdy, trashy and campy fun. The characters display language and behavior that you may not indulge in regularly. But dang it if you cant click away from laughing so much.

BWW Review: It Was Hilarious Going BAREFOOT IN THE PARK at Homewood Theatre

'Barefoot in the Park' has all the elements of a traditional good ol' American sitcom. Newlyweds discovering emotional peaks and pitfalls, a tense parent-child dynamic, unresolved family issues, wise advice from a telephone repairman and a bohemian continental who lives in mystery upstairs.
