Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced a third and final extension for their acclaimed world premiere production of DANCE NATION, the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize-winning new play by Obie Award winner Clare Barron (You Got Older, I'll Never Love Again). Directed and choreographed by Obie Award winner Lee Sunday Evans (Caught, D Deb Debbie Deborah, A Beautiful Day in November…, [Porto]), the play is the fifth production of the theater company's 2017/2018 Season.

Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning autobiographical family drama, Long Day's Journey Into Night, is widely regarded as one of the most powerful American plays of the 20th century. The acclaimed Bristol Old Vic production-which premiered in 2016 as the centerpiece of its 250th anniversary season-is helmed by award-winning theater and film director Sir Richard Eyre, and features unforgettable performances by stage, screen, Tony- and Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons and renowned stage, screen, Oscar- and Olivier-nominated actress Lesley Manville.

The New York Drama Critics' Circle awards were presented at a private cocktail reception last night. Thursday, May 10. The award for best play carries a cash prize of $2,500. The New York Drama Critics' Circle today named Mary Jane by Amy Herzog best play of the 2017-18 season.  Hangmen by Martin McDonagh was named best foreign play. No award was given for best musical. The selections were made at the organization's 83rd annual voting meeting.

Lincoln Center Theater's new production of Lerner & Loewe's My Fair Lady, officially opens tonight at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). 

The Public Theater is currently hosting the world premiere of MLIMA'S TALE, written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and directed by Obie Award winner Jo Bonney. MLIMA'S TALE continues The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street, celebrating 50 years of new work and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR. The play will run through Sunday, May 20 in The Public's Martinson Hall.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) presents the New York premiere of Miss You Like Hell. With book and lyrics by Quiara Alegria Hudes, music and lyrics by Erin McKeown, and choreography by Danny Mefford, the new musical is directed by Public Theater Resident Director and Founder of Public Works Lear deBessonet. Part of The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street, celebrating 50 years of new work at 425 Lafayette Street and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR, the musical will now run an additional week through Sunday, May 13.

Sara Holdren will direct a staged reading of Jane Austen's Persuasion, adapted for the theatre by emerging playwright Sarah Rose Kearns, on Monday, April 9th at 7 o'clock at The Players in New York City, 16 Gramercy Park South. This performance will feature Jack Halpin, Marc LeVasseur, Patricia McNamara, Chris Mixon, Daniel Reece, Amanda Jill Robinson (also acting as music director), Maggie Wetzel, Esther Williamson, and Jenna Zhu.

The stunning National Theatre production of Tony Kushner's Angels in America opens on Broadway tonight at the Neil Simon Theater.
