Rose Theatre Kingston announces its summer school programme for young people, offering a variety of courses.

Asolo Repertory Theatre hits a home run bringing this re-imagined and inventive production to its stage. The Canadian theater and television team of Craig Francis and Rick Miller who staged their version of 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea' last year is the talent behind the re-telling of this classic children's story.

New subscriptions to the 2018-2019 Children's Theatre of Cincinnati MainStage season at the Taft Theatre will be available starting today, Monday, June 4, 2018.  Subscriptions range from $43 to $103 for all four productions.  Single tickets go on sale August 31.

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly presents the final production of its 2017-18 season: the world premiere of JUNGLE BOOK, a boldly re-imagined family friendly stage adaptation of Nobel Prize-winner Rudyard Kipling's beloved classic. From the creators of Asolo Rep's 2017 hit production of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, JUNGLE BOOK previews June 6 - 8, opens June 9 and runs through June 24 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. It is recommended for ages 5 and up and will be presented by Kidoons and WYRD Productions in association with the 20K Collective, produced by Jeff Lord, co-created and co-directed by Craig Francis and Rick Miller.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, presents a new family-friendly production of Jungle Book.  Adapted from the works of Rudyard Kipling, this version is written and directed by Craig Francis and Rick Miller and is performed Tuesday, July 17 through Sunday, July 29 (press opening July 18). 

Welcome to a jungle full of animals and life lessons galore when Dallas Children's Theater (DCT) opens JUNGALBOOK, based on Rudyard Kipling's original 1894 coming of age tale. The daunting greatness of the jungle takes over DCT's stage with a larger-than-life set and combines with the moral lessons of home, betrayal, life and death, and loyalty to create a must-see play that captures the imagination. JUNGALBOOK runs at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts from May 4 - 26.

Beginning April 14, Mile Square Theatre presents public performances of its revival production of Y York's The Garden of Rikki Tikki Tavi. Restaging its 2011 production for a new audience, MST is thrilled to reunite much of the creative team from the earlier production, including MST Artistic Director Chris O'Connor and actor Blaire Brooks (Bull, Blacklist) as Darzee the Tailor Bird. The cast includes MST regular Andrew Baldwin (Frog and Toad), Cameron Blankenship (Lyric Rep), and Arielle Legere (Princess K.I.M.).

Mile Square Theatre, Hudson County's leading professional theatre, presents Y York's young audience adaptation of The Garden of Rikki Tikki Tavi. Public performances are April 14-May 6, Saturdays @ 3pm and 7pm and Sundays at 11am and 3pm.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, announces Georgia Ensemble Theatre Conservatory's Summer Camp 2018. Georgia Ensemble Theatre provides summer performing arts opportunities for all ages and levels of experience. Class sizes are kept small so that every child receives individualized attention in a safe, supportive and fun environment. GET offers a wide range of classes for classic acting, Broadway-style performance, playwriting, improvisation, and overall theater production.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company and conservatory has been invited to participate in a cultural exchange with China to teach drama to children in the city of Hangzhou, Hunan Province. And, as a second part of the exchange, 20 five-year olds and their families from China will travel to Roswell this summer to participate in a week of GET's Conservatory summer theatre camp.

The Jungle Book continues its tour around the UK, playing in Bromley this weekend. In the second part of our interview series, playwright Jessica Swale spoke to us about writing for different spaces on stage, and the inspiration behind the world and characters of this adaptation off stage.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater (Orlando Shakes) in Partnership with UCF announces the upcoming productions for their 30th Anniversary Season. Roxey Ballet presents three family-friendly performances of "Mowgli" at The College of New Jersey's Kendall Hall on May 5 and 6. This full-length ballet based on Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, tells the story of a young boy raised by a wolf pack in India. These performances, featuring original choreography by Mark Roxey, run Saturday, May 5 at 1:00 p.m. (Sensory-Friendly) and 4:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m.

The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati's 94th MainStage season will take audiences 'up, up and away' with a SUPER season opener for Tri-State students and families at the Taft Theatre. 

 In celebration of Asolo Rep's world premiere of JUNGLE BOOK this June, the theatre will present an Artist in the Jungle art contest. The theatre has collaborated with three local artists who have created artwork especially for this contest. February's artwork was created by Michael White, March's piece was created by Linda Richichi, and April's art was created by Jen Emm.

For many people, their first introduction to The Jungle Book is the Disney film of the same name. This new adaptation from Olivier award winner Jessica Swale deserves the effort of disassociation, as it rewards in numerous ways. Swale has adapted Rudyard Kipling's beloved story of the boy Mowgli being raised by wolves in the jungle into a modern, relevant and hugely entertaining show.
