Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company and conservatory has been invited to participate in a cultural exchange with China to teach drama to children in the city of Hangzhou, Hunan Province. And, as a second part of the exchange, 20 five-year olds and their families from China will travel to Roswell this summer to participate in a week of GET's Conservatory summer theatre camp.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater (Orlando Shakes) in Partnership with UCF announces the upcoming productions for their 30th Anniversary Season. With Broadway's original hip hop musical, two Shakespearean dramas, a hysterical Penny Dreadful parody, the return of a Christmas classic, a Tony Award nominated new drama, the World Premiere of a newly commissioned play, and a fresh twist on three classic fairy tales, the nationally renowned Theater's Season includes a wide range of productions to celebrate classic, contemporary, and children's plays.

Roxey Ballet presents three family-friendly performances of "Mowgli" at The College of New Jersey's Kendall Hall on May 5 and 6. This full-length ballet based on Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, tells the story of a young boy raised by a wolf pack in India. These performances, featuring original choreography by Mark Roxey, run Saturday, May 5 at 1:00 p.m. (Sensory-Friendly) and 4:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m.

The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati's 94th MainStage season will take audiences 'up, up and away' with a SUPER season opener for Tri-State students and families at the Taft Theatre. 

 In celebration of Asolo Rep's world premiere of JUNGLE BOOK this June, the theatre will present an Artist in the Jungle art contest. The theatre has collaborated with three local artists who have created artwork especially for this contest. February's artwork was created by Michael White, March's piece was created by Linda Richichi, and April's art was created by Jen Emm.

For many people, their first introduction to The Jungle Book is the Disney film of the same name. This new adaptation from Olivier award winner Jessica Swale deserves the effort of disassociation, as it rewards in numerous ways. Swale has adapted Rudyard Kipling's beloved story of the boy Mowgli being raised by wolves in the jungle into a modern, relevant and hugely entertaining show.
